Dicussion Would Marksmen class be healthier with more utility and a trade off in damage?

I don't think so.
Ranged DPS is always going to outclass everything else on an even playing field. If they're given more utility that will only exacerbate the problem. One marksmen that comes to mind is
. He's slippery and difficult to catch. We're seeing similar issues with

The only way to make a healthy trade off is to keep them weaker early game and immobile. The problem right now is not so much marksmen in the bot lane as a whole, but assassins aren't balanced and damage has reached a new ridiculous level with all the updates.
This causes a chain reaction bot lane. Traditional supports are having a difficult time protecting their carries once they leave the laning phase. AP building supports can often delete the assassin before or after they reach their carry, or at the very least cause them to disengage the attack. It doesn't always work out that way, especially if they roam, but it's a huge reason why we're seeing more of them than in previous seasons.
On top of that
gives them extreme pressure in lane. They can do so much damage with very little, so there's almost no trade off for taking
bot lane. Not every AP mid laner works. This also makes anyone facing these champions in the laning phase frustrated.
I don't really think we have a big marksman problem right now. We did a while ago, but there are only a few cases that come to mind as unhealthy currently.

I think you mean "Attack damage carry" Marksman are auto damage carry. relying on abilities
vs
auto and orb walking. There is no feast or famine with ability attack damage carries because they all offer ranged utility from a distance further than most auto orb walkers have. If those are on cooldown the logical idea would be to punish them for missing their skill shot. but damage is so high in the game that taking the poke of the ap mage supports forces the support to have to deal with the increased range and the other support player. It's that hassle that's been making the double jungle smite support much more frequent because they can make an impact else where well their marksman can farm under tower and gain level advantage with the beauty of always being able to gank that lane because it will always be pushed in and that spell thief support won't be getting bank because he isn't contributing anything. remove green father's remove high damage base put it back into buying ap items to do damage insert lux support meme and bam fixed the meta.
