Support Lulu builds?

So I main Lulu, and I have my own builds that I find decent, but I want to see how others build her in a generalized situation. I usually get item 2049 first back and then rush item 3222 with item 3158 and then use the following items depending on situation item 3504 item 3190 item 3165 item 3050 item 3157 item 3143 item 3060 item 3102 . Mikael's is crucial to Lulu imo, that big heal and CC removal along with her ult and already powerful shield makes it pretty tough for enemies to kill your ADC. So, share your Lulu builds / tips! I'm curious!

I love going off-tank 1-ap support item builds. With the obvious Sightstone aside...

item 3092 item 3009 item 3174 are pretty much my core items on her. Athene's work pretty well on Lulu since she pokes, shield is single target and that I spam it all the damn time, and that a kick of heals would help her anti-sustain by a lot. Or at least in my playstyle; it's pretty much a personal gift to Lulu from Riot.

item 3190 if I need MR, item 3110 if I need armor. I don't like Randuin's because its active is pretty useless on a backline poky peeler like her, and that I like more mana + CDR over more HP. item 3102 if I still need more MR.

Used to run item 3001 for the MR path because of how stupidly cheap it was, then the mage rework highlighted the truth about its OPness.

Zhonya's is a waste of slot and money; its armor is too little for a offtank peeler like me and that its active would fuck up my peeling tactics. I am very horrid at using Mikael's so I never built that, Zeke's isn't that strong anymore ever since preseason where ADCs can get 80%+ crit quite easily, Censer is too situational of an item for me since IMO Athene's would benefit Lulu much more on lots of aspects, Morello's build path post-rework is strange on supports like me though if my team somehow still don't have GW I get that, and Righteous Glory... no, not when my team is full of usually chickens.

My builds in a nutshell.

Wow, I had no idea Athene's offered that passive. They must've added that while I stopped playing. Definitely adding that to my every-game build for Lulu, thanks! Good point on Randuin's and Zhonya's though. I have both items in my build under "other items" but now that I think about it I never actually use them. Zeke's must've gone useless while I wasn't playing as well, because I remember it being a must-have for supports. I like Righteous Glory a lot, but not on Lulu. I find it better on a heavy initiater like Leona or Blitz.

Thanks for sharing! ^_^

Those are pretty much the same items I select from, except I also might get Zz'rot sometimes.

I always build her as an anti-%-damage tank with additional utility.

The build's concept: The only way to take more % health damage is with shields, if you take 100% health damage you die even as a tank, no matter how much health you have. Raising your maximum health reduces the effectiveness of shields against % health damage so more health isn't wanted. 2000 health + 400 shield = 120% health, 3000 health + 400 shield = 112% health.

I max the cooldown reduction with runes and build: item 1001 item 3003 item 3025 item 3512 item 2301 As core, and situational: item 3001 item 3026 item 3089

With this build you're the hardest possible to kill for a Vayne, you're impossible to chase and you can permaslow anyone you catch out of position for your team to come assist you.

I will try this out! Thank you :)

generally max w and build a hybrid of tank and utility. do you build spellthief line on her?

Environmentalist1 votes

No. I buy spellthief's edge as a beginner item but sell it once I start building my 5th or 6th items. I'm not a fan of Frost Queen's Claim. and max w eh? I usually max E and Q depending on if we're ahead or behind. Though, that was before the buff to W, I haven't played her today yet.

Ok that makes sense. with the recent changes q is no longer a first max imho.

True, it's a nice buff though, I'm excited to play her.
