Patch 10.3 Yuumi Changes.

At first I was really excited about 10.3 As a Yuumi main in upper silver elo, I was getting all ready to grab the pretty new skin (heck even the pro guides videos were saying 10.3 Yuumi the OP support!!!) Now having played Yuumi after the changes in around 30 games total, in 2 days since patch 10.3...I can say that she actually feels significantly worse early-mid game.

(1) Heal nerf - The nerf on the heal might seem insignificant but in early game laning it's HUGE! Now I find Yuumi's heal is so small during a 2v2 bot fight you pop that one single heal on your adc, and they are still dieing before the other adc or sup by about 20-50hp (the amount of the heal they nerfed.) even if you play it perfectly (exhaust, ignite, auto) and tank as much dmg as a Yuumi can (and if you try to de-tach to proc ur shield or mana regen, yea 1 single skill shot means instant death..not maybe die, but 100% you are guaranteed a Yuumi death within 3 seconds). Day before the patch I won 8-10 games in a row and in a single day went from silver 3-silver 2 50lp. Day after the patch I lost 5-7 games almost in a row. Majority of the time as I said it's your adc dieing 20-30 hp ahead of the other adc. I'm gonna be honest here it feels more like a struggle surviving early-mid game as Yuumi, then it did pre-patch 10.3. You pretty much lose most meta 2v2 matchups simply by stats and dmg. I've even tried different rune combinations, items, builds...pretty much everything to make it work...it's just your adc dieing by a small margin ahead of the enemy adc. You pretty much depend on your jg to come gank at this point.

(2) Q % health dmg. Pretty much insignificant early-mid game. The nerfs on base dmg make q feel even more useless at lvl 1, you can't even see the damage on the opponents health bar until q lvl 2 or 3, and then your sacrificing points in a now much weaker heal. By nature of how yuumi functions being attached naturally your adc is taking more punishment, and now you can't heal it. But you can proc shield right? Sure if you like dieing :) Yuumi can't deatch without a serious risk of being instantly killed by the opposing sup landing 1 single skill shot. And a good sup is going to save their skill shot for just that moment (trust me.) the second your juicy booty hops off to proc a shield or mana regen, ciao Yuumi, nice knowin ya! The q % health dmg increase only really feels effective late game and mostly only against tanks, in the meta of high dmg it's not often people are picking health based tanks honestly, and if the opponent does pick a mundo or nasus sure then your q does something but man it feels useless.

It's actually really frustrating and really discouraging. I can pick up naut or leona and it's a much much easier game. It reminds me of the old Ivern, I realized I had to play 10x better to win with ivern then to simply pick another more broken jger, so what's the point? I really love Yuumi but honestly I just don't know what to do. I'm thinking I just pick up leona, get up to gold and call it a day. When you play hundreds of games pre patch and then 20-30 games post-patch you have a good intimate knowledge of how the patch impacts your gameplay... this is one of those cases of what looked good on paper is not so good in practice...10.3 has squashed yuumi's laning phase to non-existant with the heal nerf.

I honestly wish they would have just left her the way she was with the 2 heal charges and the half decent q (I still have people trying to tp with me and have to tell them it was nerfed #feelsbadman). I don't want to be an AP stat buff, I want to heal like a cool healing priest cat (the way Yuumi used to be). I think these constant changes really punish players who just want to 1-trick master a specific champ (it's hard to do that when they are being drastically changed over and over and over. The earlier patch that removed the e heal charges and added the % attack speed buff, looked bad on paper but really felt allot better in actual gameplay, but this patch was the opposite...10.3 Yuumi changes looked great on paper, but feel horrible in actual gameplay *sigh I don't know man I might just take a break and see if she comes back in a few patches. I'll put a wager that over the next 6 months Yuumi's win rate will drop due to changes in patch 10.3. That's all folks.

Edit: I'de love to here how other Yuumi mains are preforming after patch 10.3 please include how many games you've played post patch 10.3, your w/r, personal feelings during early-mid game, etc

Yuumi needed some buffs but instead it seems like they gave her a power shift, one that ultimately is a net negative for most of the game. Her Q damage should be % total health damage. They did away with her CDR affecting W cooldown which would have been huge.

I'm pretty sure her early/mid game win rate will drop significantly but her late game may see a slight increase. All-in-all Riot missed the mark with these "buffs" if that's what they want to call it. If they really want to buff her they need to increase her tankiness a little bit so when her ally dies and she is attached she doesn't immediately become a free double kill. I want to say that unless she has another ally to jump to, shes probably got a 90-95% death rate when her attach target dies.

Those W changes are so killer to me, it feels like its not worth using the shield late game anymore

I think what they need to do is revert the W cc nerfs, and then nerf her heal, so they can focus her power in her shield and buff that. That way she has a reason to hop off for counterplay without the risk of getting 100-0 in 1 second

I honestly thought when I picked up Yuumi at the end of S9 "ok she has the lowest w/r in the game should be safe from nerfs" then Riot was like "nope" next patch nerfs, following patch more nerfs...guess I didn't realize the champ was so busted...

It looks like Mark Yetter is on Twitter announcing a hotfix buff for both Yuumi and Akali. Not a surprising development but a welcome one nonetheless. Yuumi's 'changes' were supposed to be a net buff but turned out to be mostly a nerf.

It is also important to point out that Yuumi has a new skin out now. There is no way Riot is going to let her changes stay a 'nerf' when they want to sell the skin.
