Can we please for the love of god revert orange essence back to how it was??

it was in no way unfair to riot or the players, the disenchants were not overboard and it gave you enough to get whatever skin you wanted its absolute BULLSHIT now ....... I'm sitting here with over 30 skin shards that I REFUSE to disenchant because of how stupid the prices are. let me show u some math right now. lets say I want a legendary skin ~ eternum nocturne for instance.

ok so you need 1520 Orange essence to enchant it right? k an EPIC SKIN disenchants for 270 orange essence .. YES I SAID AN EPIC SKIN . keep in mind that these are still rare as fuck to get. 270 essence for one epic skin.. 6x270 = 1620 orange essence

YOU NEED 6 EPIC SKIN SHARDS TO GET ONE LEGENDARY SKIN. RIDICULOUS?? YES.

okok centralize lets just say I want an epic skin? sure man how many 975 skin shards do you need for that?? k 1050 orange essence to unlock one epic , 195 orange essence per 975 skin shard~~ 6x195 = 1170 orange essence. oh big surprise ALL YOU NEED IS 6 SKIN SHARDS WORTH 975 FOR ONE EPIC SKIN.

this is so stupid. yeah you probably read my post and say what a rager, hes cussing, whatever, but I spend real money on this game and this change is just greedy and an asshole move by riot. fix this seriously, I'm tired of sitting here with 35 skin shards because I don't want to use them all to get only 3 or 4 things (and this is not even including ward skins or ULTIMATE SKINS which you can pretty much forget ever buying an ultimate skin again from hextech)

I honestly have no idea what kind of an idiot would buy them after they screwed with the orange essence. it feels like getting skins from chests actually costs you more than the actual price of the skin which is pretty stupid when you can just buy the skin instead of buying chests and relying on luck.

As much as I loved getting random skins (almost none I even wanted) it lowered the value of skins overall.

Why even buy skins since they're no longer unique? They had to make that change because it's already caused a ridiculous amount of damage to their RP value.

I'll admit, I do enjoy the gambling aspect of the Hextech chests, which has led me to purchase them frequently with RP. I like to try to play as many champions as I can, so the 'loot boxes' are fun for me because any good skin I get, I just start playing that champion a lot.

Anyway, I think we all understand the "business" part of this decision, however I wish I could see some charts because I don't imagine they were losing THAT much revenue.. especially with all the other sources of income I'm sure they receive from things like eSports and social media (to name a couple).

In regards to the current value of the orange essence right now, I'll agree with the OP and say that I haven't purchased a single chest since the change. If it cannot be reverted to the original state, at least raise the disenchant numbers some. As of right now, the chests are very underwhelming and I don't see myself buying anymore anytime soon.

Meh, you want my 2 pennies, I would say take champ shards out of the actual loot boxes, its already got skins, wards, and emotes in there bogging it down, the champ shards are the issue, we get those every single level

Yeah I kinda wish they would reverse it already. Ever since the change I've had no interest in the system. Why disenchant 6-8 other skins that I want to craft if it's only to craft one other. Re-rolling is a gamble of what skin I want, gemstones I still feel are rare to come by, and overall the value of the crafting system I just feel became worthless or a beginner's trap.

There's no value in disenchanting skins for OE for a shard that you really want to craft. The only thing that's worth it anymore is BE and even then that's still sketchy with it's values

word. i have shards for sg poppy and soaring sword fiora but I only have 260 orange essence.. which means i have to get lucky with my monthly chest which is just ridiculous

I’ve received Elemental Lux, Wonderland Annie, Dunkmaster Darius and more great skins from mastery chests. The fact that I spent $0 on an aspect of the game that has given me more than $50 RP value, makes me feel fine about spending more money on content that I enjoy.

I believe you can still re-roll for a skin permanent?

5 years ago, you could buy a skin with RP and that was it. Now people who choose not to spend money can receive skins.

I don’t think it’s an issue of you sounding entitled, as much as you not being realistic about the delicate nature of the economy riot is trying to maintain. A change to orange essence disenchant values, indirectly (directly?) effects the profitability of skin sales.

Please do this. I'm sitting on a Star Guardian Jinx skin but can't generate enough OE between mastery chests now giving fucking EMOTES on top of losing OE disenchant value.

Why make skin shards more rare and worth less at the same time?

Got 3 boxes since season reset and got an emote, a 750 karthus skin shard and an icon + 150 OE. At this rate I'll literally need to DE like 8 skins now to unlock a single one, or something like 12+ boxes

What i'm sick of is having the skin shards, then getting chests from getting an S in game and then getting more champ shards when they already give champ shards when you level up. I mean at least give me a fucking skin shard so I can disenchant and get my arcade ezreal sitting in my inventory.

Basically, riot is getting a fuck and they don't want people getting skins for free. They want people to buy. It's all about money. Think about everything that has happened to change the game. They want more new players. More players = more money. And nobody can say i'm wrong.

...If not for the overabundance of champion shards in hextech boxes. All we seem to get these days are champ shards.

if you have 30 skin shards, why not reroll them ? you can get 10 free skins. I literally got spirit guard udyr with 3 rerolls. lol

No. Riot needs money. They need to be able to hire new analysts that do nothing but watch game play, instead of just looking at data, so they can do a proper balance. Of course they could just fire the person that tells them to keep rolling out garbage instead of fixing what they have... decisions decisions decisions.

Growing the game is nice, but not when you fail to keep it in scale.

Guys, remember, this is FREE STUFF. Riot didn't used to give us swag for free like this. Although the system is less generous then before, we shouldn't feel so entitled to free skins.

Riot lost a lot of money when they started to impliment this system, and of course they needed to stop this I also think them changing the issue would be a Tencent issue, rather than a Riot Games issue

I've got anywhere between 4.1k orange essence to 7.2k throughout the month. I always feel I have too much. My complaint is that I don't get any skins from my chest openings. All I get is champion shards, and after possessing all champions, are rather mundane.
