k, apparently my thread has caused a big discussion amongst the boards between Orange essence being shitty value which it is but then people are talking shit that it's free and we should stop being entitled snowflakes, complaining about free things.

here is my proposal -

Riot- revert all the orange essence values back to their original state. Every single shard we have right now (excluding emotes) make them the original values for lets say 5-7 days .......... allow everyone to disenchant their old shards that they PAID FOR before this change or enchant some skin shards that they have been holding on to for a while before they were all devalued and then after that period of time you can change it back to this god awful system you have now.

plain and simple , people feel robbed for what we already PAID FOR WITH REAL MONEY and we have nothing we can do about it.... so once you revert it for a week, and the time period is over, we have nothing else to gripe about .... but I can promise you this, you are going to end up either getting rid of the bullshit values sooner or later or getting rid of hextech chests all together because if this community has any intelligence whatsoever they will never buy another rip off chest again.

Honestly, a good suggestion.. and if a week is too long, even 2-3 days would suffice. I really don't see the harm in doing this temporarily, other than Riot maybe looking bad but it would probably solve a lot of complaints and at least one issue would be taken care of for now and we can move on to something else.

They literally made a huge announcement about it before the change, saying how the values would change a lot. Literally what you proposed is basically what happened. There was a notification every time you logged in for like a week. [sg-zephyr]

Sounds like a fair deal to me. One brief period where it's all back to normal so we don't feel cheated anymore from what we purchased before the devalue.

Riot actually told everybody how they were going to change OE as well as BE a decent amount of time before the change was implemented, although I don't agree with the current system at all and they aren't holding to their claim they made with this change that they were going to create more opportunities to obtain skin shards. I dont think the roll rates were increased for skins from chests, they didn't have any events that particularly increased the amount of hextech chests or skin shards despite having the entire winter holiday to do so.

Mmmmmmmmmm how about just make the things that disenchant into orange essence that you got from chests you paid for give the old values, while disenchanting things that you got from free chests the new, shitty values.

Bad solution. They've warned you that these prices would go down. You should have disenchant it back then. But they should revert it permanently.

I could have sworn they warned me to get rid of my shards before the changes happen, maybe that was for blue essence (and i assumed it was for both).

I dont know. I dont believe we are entitled to free skins.

Rito realized they were taking too much out of their profits by giving away so many free skins(orange essence) and decides to dial it down. We are still getting the free skins but at a slower rate.

What do you mean paid for with real money? if you bought your stuff after the changes... well who are you going to blame? And if you bought your stuff before the changes, didn't you have the opportunity to immediately disenchant or craft/save the skin?

I honestly don't understand the sycophants who downvote people criticizing riot for these changes. It was extremely underhanded, and turned a system that was already behind the curve of current industry practices, and made it even worse.

No it's not free. We're spending time playing the game. The system is largely based on revenue from skin sales. Keeping your customer base happy and playing by giving them breadcrumbs is fine, as long as those crumbs are not molecules. Like I said many times in my posts, riot missed a massive opportunity. They could have opened a permanent BE shop. Recolour all the skins, sell portraits, emotes, etc. And in turn, give us more blue essence. New players would then earn champs faster, veteran players could show off their swag for the time they played, and the game would feel more fun for it (more chromas, etc).

Instead, they gave us this grindy shit. 3600 experience only to open a master yi, ashe and 90 BE totalling 810 or 900 usually. I don't remember the last time I got a shard of something I needed, let a lone a 6300 shard.

Seriously riot, who is working at your marketing division, because this was a terrible decision. No I won't forget and just "Get used to it" over time like you clearly want us to. There was a massive backlash initially, and people have slowly just given up, but that doesn't make it any less shitty.

Legitimately all I have ever wanted after the change is for them to make the shards we owned prior to the change worth their original amounts since it was poorly communicated. I just want my shards to be worth what I paid for them and not feel like I got screwed for buying them.
