is Galio worth the ban?

First off I'm in silver 3 as a cassiopia main. I've been banning ekko, irelia and azir mostly. My last game was with a Diana jungle and they had last pick for their mid. They picked galio, with arelian sol top.

We got ahead early, but midgame Diana and I couldn't do anything against him. I did Morello's, rylias and liandrys to cut through his mr and hp regen but it didn't do much.

Our top was illaoi but she was 1-4 about 10 mins into game.

Maybe this isn't enough info but I feel like galio was too much teamfight presence midgame to do anything. Their bot lane was ahead though.

the issue is galio is never picked that no one knows how to play against him so when he is seen its like playing against a new champ. you dont know his range, damage, cds, ect. i think its more that then anything else. he isnt worth a ban but if he gets picked vs a heavy ap comp and he can get fed he can be a nightmare.

Bans are worth much more when used on popular picks. Galio is probably one of the least picked champions right now (I haven't checked the actual numbers) so even if you ban him every game there is almost no chance of actually doing so against someone that wanted to pick it.

In short, no. However, if you don't have any problem with the popular picks then you should defer to your team to help ban what they are bad against, and otherwise you can just ban whatever you don't want to play against.
