Why even bother picking an ADC

Why do we even bother picking and ADC anymore. I'm a full build cait against an enemy team with barely any armor. The only armor they have is a zhonya's (on taliyah) and a deadman's plate (on lee). As you can see this in the video I pretty much get a auto attack for 8 seconds straight. In this insanely long time I kill none of them WTF. I don't see why this is fair balance. If a cait is allowed to do damage for that long she should win the fight but instead I do no damage.

The game currently is in a terrible state (mostly for and adc player), sure you might say "Oh but adc's scale with items" and "Cait isn't that good of a pick at the moment" Sure she isn't the best pick. But a late game caitlynn is still a late game caitlynn. If she reaches 4 items she should be able to damage but what do you actually do... Nothing. I might aswell not be in the fight and it wouldn't have made a difference. It feels like this for most ad's at the moment with us dealing barely any damage while at full build and we still get oneshot by everything. I do not mind being oneshot by something if I can kill people. I also don't mind not doing damage if that means I don't get oneshot. But for god's sake don't give me the worst of both worlds. I currently get oneshot and do no damage. It just feels miserable to see a mage with a morellonomicon do insane amounts of damage. More than a 2 items ADC. It shouldn't be like this, if I stomp my lane like I did this game I should be able to do more with my lead. Another thing that feels miserable about AD's is the build path. Having to spend 1300 gold on a necessary items such as a BF sword feels so bad, since it doesn't give you anything extra while 900 gold item such as lost chapter gives more damage, and also gives insane mana sustain.

And the thing that feels the worst about AD is that you can't even push towers fast anymore. I do 200 damage per hit to a tower when I have 3 mountain drakes just why bother even hitting it. Or why let an AD hit it. With the change that was made last season where AP also scales with auto damage on turrets AP's do way more DPS to turrets than an ad does which is stupid since this is a core aspect of the game and why you have a ranged AD to kill turrets.

It just feels like riot hates the role of ADC for some reason and I can't see why. With the announced changes coming to tanks getting an item which gives them a huge HP boost for a couple of seconds and them getting insane armor values and ~300 less HP in their full build it seems like it's going to be even worse for AD players. The only thing I can hope is that the new GA will help somewhat, but the way it currently looks is that it is super gold inefficient giving very little useful stats for a high price. So if the AD needs to build A GA it's most likely going to be a waste of gold.

I really hope Riot will think about the tank update with AD's in mind by maybe changing the way their items scale for example Crit damage which feels like a great mechanic doing double damage and getting a better animation. But as we all know 0 x 2 = 0 So we still don't do damage. If the LW rework would be changed back it would be enough but from what I can tell Riot never goes back onto their balance changes and fixes what they have messed up before. It just seems weird that a LW is comparable in goals as for an AP void staff. Both allow the owner to penetrate Armor or MR. But it seems really unfair that one gives percentage BONUS penetration and the other gives percentage penetration. Can you guess which one is for AD, yeah the bad one with Bonus penetration. This makes this item a useless item against enemies that have no armor items while void staff is always good even against people without MR.

Feel free to discuss with me in the comments if you think I am wrong, because I don't see a world where this is fair balance.

I watched this clip at least 40 times and all I can say is you do deal damage. You dealing damage is not the problem. The problem is you weren't focusing on the same target for the whole time, which isn't your fault.

Marksmen are DPS-- Damage per second-- champions. They are meant to kill a target over time, like how kiting is a thing among marksmen and their skill capping. Just because Caitlyn sat back and auto attacked a Kennen 2 times does not mean he should be dead; not to mention he went from in your range to the back lines after Taliyah's ult.

From that point on, Caitlyn was just autoing whatever she could get in range.

This is how it happened. (and having the ability to view this in slow motion would help a lot. I can't do that so I am viewing this at normal speed keeping track of ever auto on to who. It is tough.)

Cait is in the back lines and a Kennen comes. He ults. Cait autos once, uses her E to back. Cait autos one more time as Kennen proceeds to go out of Caits range as he Zyhona's and got in the back lines safely. 2 autos total.

Cait goes forward to Taliyah's wall and autos Lee twice with a proc of Hurricane hitting Lulu.

Redemption from Red side saves Kennen, completely out of Caitlyn's Range.

Gets a Face of Mountain Shield from Blitz.

Moment of repositioning.

Taliyah steps on trap, Cait autos Taliyah. Taliyah E'd under Caitlyn then Zyhonas.

Cait gets thrusted to Taliyah's W. Flashes out.

From there on, EVERY autos goes towards Kog'Maw. I counted 6. Gets a shield from Sterake's Gage.

(God my eyes hurt from keeping track of all that. Wish I could slow it and freely move screen but I can't so...)

That is how the fight went. Only one Trap, only one net. No ult, and no Q. Basically relying on autos. The problem was the autos were not going to the same target for a long point and time. 2 towards Kennen. Of course he shouldn't die. 2 to Lee, backs off. A trap auto to Taliyah. Backs off and 6 autos to Kog who gains Sterak Gage's shield, he may have even had a Lulu shield. 2 of those autos had cut through his shield-- the fifth and sixth. The second, third, and fourth do deal damage to Kog. The first auto, I think went to Kog, maybe Lee? I don't know. (My eye hurts a lot).

Like I said, marksmen are DPS, they shouldn't really burst down champs, and seeing how Caitly isn't a Lethality user, as most damage comes from autos, you can't be surprised by this outcome.

I would complain about you saying how marksmen are weak but I would rather get down voted from the video analysis not arguing about where marksmen stand.

Let me stop ya for a moment, I see your upset but look into the numbers deeper and your gonna see why yall lost. First on your team, your cait did the most damage to the enemy team. Looking at the other Cait game and the three EZ games in your history I see you got 1st or second for team damage and most of them are pretty close numbers. Now on the enemy teams side for damage, in the cait vid above the enemy Ken went into AD build for ken, was running item 3046 item 1038 item 3111 item 3153 item 3085 item 3022 And lead their team in damage by about 10k, Enemy Talia was ahead of you by bit over 1k and the enemy koggles (whos their adc I assume from death and kill map) was only ahead of you by 300 ish. Teammates did not do their jobs well so that's why ya lost. Also your clip, I'm counting about 10-12 autos all told but you changed your main target multiple times. you should have the replay still so rewatcg it and slow it down n see how many shots go to each champion, its a bit hard for me due to the quality on YouTube lol. Adc requires teammates to do they job well, much like Support requires ADC to do their job. Only differences is a support can swap focus to mid top or jungler and still have impact but ADC will need peel regardless. Mage and assassins are gonna pick a target and burst them, pretty much all their damage is going to be funneled as fast as possible into the first target they can that's worth their C and its gonna be showy and dramatic. Adc going to put out damage over time for fights and needs peel and cc to shine, plus mechanics to hit the right targets and maintain proper distances.

Tldr you did the most damage on your team but enemy did more and your teammates did not do their jobs as well as they could have that resulted in a loss. Also focus targets down better if you can.
