Pyke ultimate interactions

I don't exactly know what to expect from Pyke. The idea of a support assassin is somehow weird to me, because :

  • Or it has base damages high enough to compensate for the fact that he will have less golds than a usual midlaner assassin. Then, if ahead, it will be stupidly broken.
  • Or he does not, and then I don't see the point of playing a champ with low engage, low peel, low poke, and low all-in potential ( due to his damages being low ) instead of a regular consistent support.

Anyway, I don't know, so I am waiting to see.

But, this video shows some interactions that are beyond stupid. Basically, as long as there is a champion who is low-hp ( the exact amount depending on your level, that's how his R works ) in the cross area, the CD is refund. Even if they parry, have banshee, Malz shield, GA, Aatrox/Zac passive, Trynda/Zilean R, Sivir/Noc spellshields, etc. What is the exact reason to give this ultimate such a stupid potential ? ALL those things are designed to counter Assassin's burst, or hard engage.

So .... What's the reason behind it ? Is it fair ? Is it an interesting mechanic ? Is it a frustrating absurd design for this spell ?

I don't see what Riot's thinking, as they're just making it an UNDOGEABLE EXECUTE ULT. I wish they were to just not reset the cdr if they hit a GA, Trynda R or similiar..

I think this is likely to be a bug. It used to be the same with Diana Q+R however now if your R KILLS them before the Q can hit, you don't get the reset (Q+R is when you hit with you R before the Q lands but it still resets the R CD)
