Voli ult misleading?

So ive been playing voli alot recently and just last game i was hovering my mouse over all his abilities like we do before minions get to lane, and i overcame either a bug, or just straight up wrong info in the description of his ult.

ACTIVE: Volibear deals magic damage to up to 4 nearby enemies. Afterwards, for 12 seconds, Volibear's basic attacks deal the same damage as bonus magic damage that bounces to up to 3 nearby unaffected enemies.

"Volibear deals magic damage to up to 4 nearby enemies." This part of his ult just dosent happen. He gets the whole 12 seconds with AP damage added onto his auto attack, but the initial activation damage just does not happen. Plz fix rito?
