Negative Mpen/Arpen

Was referencing the wiki and on the magic pen page there is this at the top

This can reduce magic resistance below 0, resulting in bonus damage

Then further down under neath the "flat magic resist reduction" section there is this

Having negative magic resist does not cause the target to take extra damage

So obviously someone edited the wiki and messed up. Which is true?

On the armor penetration page, there is also talk of having negative armor and doing bonus physical damage because of it

So is it true that negative MR/Armor results in bonus damage?

Here is the page in question: http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Magic_penetration

Armor/Magic pen cannot reduce someone's armor/MR below zero. However, effects that reduce their armor/MR CAN reduce it below zero.

The order things stack is Flat MR Reduction, % MR Reduction, % MR Pen, Flat MR Pen.

So if they have 10 MR and you have an Abyssal Scepter, they effectively have -10 MR (so you're doing bonus damage).

However, if they have 10 MR and you just have Sorc Shoes (15 MR Pen), you'd be doing damage as if they have 0 MR (not -5).

So, if their MR and Armor are reduced by reduction effects, you'll do bonus damage.

The formula for damage reduced is: Armor or MR/(Armor or MR + 100).

So if they have 50 MR, they are taking 33% reduced damage. If they have -10 MR, they are taking .11 increased damage.

Not for Armor, as it's rather like True Damage.

But I think it is calculated bonus damage with magic damage, why else would they give monsters minus MR and Super Minions A LOT of negative MR?

Edit: I could be wrong, as I haven't really paid attention to exact amounts of damage when I play AP and farming.

Someone made a mistake, negative armor/MR will cause you to take extra damage. Penetration, however, will not cause you to ignore more than your target's total resistances, so unless you use armor/magic resistance reduction, you won't ever see that kind of damage amplification.
