Masteries in general make balancing champions have too many pointake of views.

IMO masteries make balancing the game have to many points of views as to why it should/shouldn't happen for a specific champion or item. No matter what you do to champions, masteries give an incredible amount of different playstyles (some people may be better with certain ones than others), advantages, and disadvantages. Runes just add to different ways and styles giving flat stats to the player's preference.

For instance like my Rengar haha. You can build him as a ad bruiser, crit, armor pen, ap assassin, or even tank and he'll do fine either way, also because of this you can't always assume he'll be an assassin (going full ad even though that what most people prefer, there's always a chance thats not what he's going to build).

Grasp of the Undying gives me an advantage over bruiser champs and others with good trade abilities. When I take this I also go Runic Armor, Vamprism, and Lifesteal quints. This with my first item dorans (I main him top) gives me huge sustain of a flat 10% Lifesteal, while maintaining damage. This is just an example of how largely masteries and runes are a huge contribution to champions gameplay.

Thunder lords gives great burst, there's at least 6 different masteries that give sustain, fervor is pretty great on almost anyone, increased CDR cap helps anyone (even when not building the max, it still gives 5% flat CDR), armor pen for any ad person, magic for any ap champs. I could through the whole list but I'm sure you get the point.

There was another person named Marshbouy who made a post about fervor making the game harder to balance out, but I feel it's masteries in general.

What do you guys think?

Edit: idk why it autocorrected to pointake. Points* I have this as the title because I don't think riot is always aware of all the points about a champion and what they're changing and why they think they should. Especially because of how much masteries contribute to champions.
