I recently started playing karthus alot, and i decided to buy a skin for him so as soon as i saw the grim reaper karthus splash it looks sick and then i search it up on youtube to see what it looks like in game and hes not even a skeleton hes and old man. If riot could just make the skin look in game as it does in the splash it would be such a cool skin. To me that splash is falce advertising cus it looks nothing like in the game.

Id just like to hear from a rioter why that is the case?

Karthus is one of those champions who got a visual rework back in the day. Before he is now, he used to be just a Skeleton in robes. But since it was controversial in other regions like China (I believe), they had to change him and went with the Lich approach. This was before the time we had the amazing Splash Art Update team rework the art for skins who didn't receive it. But don't worry, Karthus is on the list of champions scheduled to get new splash arts for his skins. Just be patient!

For future reference, always look up a skin spotlight YouTube video before buying a skin.

Ever since Riot has taken LoL global, human skeletons have been a no go. As many Eastern countries have a taboo when it comes to portraying skeletons when associated with magic.

Now, it's not strictly against the law to show skeletons, as the laws on such things are vague and is often used to cherry pick things to ban. So to be on the safe side, Riot is just staying away from skeletons all together.
