Is it just me or is aa dmg creep a problem?

The other day i was playing against a rengar who just built duskblade, statik shiv, rfc, with dark harvest and one shot me with just one empowered aa. I just really dont like all these items and runes that can empower auto attacks, because unless im playing jax or teemo i have literally no counterplay.
