Good for thought

Probably a bad idea, and would be a coding disaster, but what if certain abilities were considered “grounded,” and jumps let you jump over them.

EX: Veigar uses his Q, and I dodge it using my leap as Gnar. Then, a little while later when my E is off Cooldown, he W’s me. Because it comes from the sky, I can’t dodge it with E.

Then champions like Thresh and Blitz will no longer be able to have a chance to save people from champions like Kha and Rengar who would be stupidly overpowered then.

So currently, jumps are most likely coded in as dashes. The two main "mobility" mechanics are blinks and dashes (intentionally ignoring tp moves like Ryze/Shen ult).

With what you want to do, a Z axis would need to be accounted for. Possible, but it would be more then just a coding nightmare. It would be a measurement nightmare. You have to remember that some characters are much larger than their sprites. Unless you are Superman leaping over a Mountain (Malphite) a Z axis, while sounding neat, would be ba din practice. Even accounting for Magic and "It is a Game" theory.
