Why can't we have a true puppet master in this game?

Everything that was fun was nerfed to oblivion or completly reworked, as few examples, Morde dragon and clones were completly removed where there weren't really op, instead what he got is I press R and kill you in few seconds, Azir was another good fantasy for a puppet master with his soldiers, until he get a mini rework and now he's just a poke/spam/all in, his soldiers losed a lot of their identity and now you can not even treat them like anything else than an aoe skill that last few seconds. I would mention yorick too, he still have his few minions and maiden but you can't really control them, it's either you let them on lane and they start pushing or they follow you and you start pushing.

Why can't we have a true puppet master, a champion specialized in summoning his minions on map, with skills that does only simply basic as: summoning their minions/pet/familiar whatever riot calls them and give them order, a relative squishy championn with low mobility, low attack speed and base atack but powerful minions and skills orietend only around their minons and maybe a defensive/mobilty skill but still related to minions (maybe something like Zed's W to switch the place with one of their minion)

So I don't have a really good kit myself that would be unique and not seen before, but I'd likeif Riot would bring back a champion for once that is supposed to be fun and not a "must pick or ban until we ditch him and make unplayable", so a champion that can summon multiple types of minions (like an tank minion, a ranged one or even an enchanter) and order them around with maybe a skill or something. Also he don't need to have much of escape or power by himself, the point of that type of champion would be to completly depend on his minions to make the work, otherwise he would be unhealthy for the game in either the point he'd be to op or riot would need to also ditch him.

I can't really give a good suggestion of what he may be, cause Riot alerdy got good ideas for that types, and ruined them (I mean, we had a God summoning his servants (Azir), we have a kind of necromancer (Yorick) and those 2 are usually the types of puppet master that you see and have kits based on summoning a lot of minions/pets/familiars that fight for them when they watch, the problem is both of them acutally needs to fight more than the supports do, I mean, Heimer is a more good option than those two, and his minions are completly immobile, zyra too, her minions are also very unhealthy for the damage they provide, and Zyra herself is a walking CC machine)

I think riot did talk about this puppet master fantasy in one of their q&a a few years ago. And they said they were concerned that such a champion would be too powerful in the hands of proplayers and otps, who mastered this kit. Because this champ would be balanced arround this specific group, it would feel underwhelming in the hands of the average player.

And I think we can already see this in azir. As soon as he is not the worst midlaner in soloqueue, he is already pick/ban in competitve. Just because proplayers can do so insanely much with azir's kit.

If we had a true puppet master champion, who had puppets that can do more than just azir soldiers/ yorick ghoule, that can be effectivly controlled by the player, this champion would probably be nerfed into <40% soloqueue-winrate-status, just to not have him at 100% ban in proplay.

well I understand what you're saying but Azir (because I'm sure Riot post was also about him) is particullary problematic for more reasons, like his soldiers are like some adcs, so having 3 adc hit you at once is not the best trade you can get when a chicken is also flying around and shielding himself, maybe even throw you in a turret he just created, I think Azir kit is particullary prolematic than acutal the it's fantasy idea, he have mobility, cc, shields and a lot of damage, but if a champion would be focused on just few aspects of those he wouldn't really be a problem. For ex look at Akali, she's the definition of a problem and even after the infinity amount of nerfs she's still a issue because her kit is so loaded, Azir is on a similar note but not so much, for instance, if he wouldn't have a dash or his dash would be a lot smaller/slower, or shield would be removed and in exchange his soldiers would be buffed there would be more opportunities for both sides, he would be more rewarding while winning a risky fight but also easier punishable for his mistakes. But creating a champions starting with the idea of him controlling other units wouldn't be a real issue if you manage to acutally leave weak points in his kit (which honestly Riot didn't have done to much recently).

I feel as if they made a pupper master champion, it should be support.

It'd be similar to old Yorick where you have 3 different puppets that accomplish different things. perhaps you place them somewhere and they could even be a unit you can control or they have to kill. some abilities could have a longer cooldown until max rank. and the ult should imo be some other strong af type of unit.

i think itd just be good. like he can summon some type of healer that is stationed in an area and drains HP of all units in that area as well the longer you are in it. something like that.

An interesting concept. I like the idea of a necromancer that uses fallen jungle camps as puppets.
