Make Rune Pages Editable In-Game Like Masteries

it's already annoying how much rune pages cost, and what enemies we would face in lane, why can't we just be allowed to edit our rune pages in game? It would help us with our lane opponents that we would be facing, as you may need to set the right runes to fit them defensively or offensively. This seems like a better idea than to having to buy a lot of rune pages just for certain opponents, and making it so the cost of the rune pages not be complained about.

You mean in champ select right? In game would be unfair, in champ select though definitely agree

Fun fact: Back in beta (and possibly early S1? I forget) rune pages COULD be edited during champion select. Riot took out this functionality so that they could monetize rune pages somewhat.

I don't think they'll ever change that.

Spoiler: This is never going to happen.

I don't know how MANY people buy their rune pages with RP, but if only a small number do, Riot isn't going to turn their back on that revenue to appease someone who basically just doesn't want to spend their IP on rune pages.

This is, at the end of the day, a free to play game. Riot is going to monetize anything and everything they can, I'm just glad that the only thing I can't "grind" for free are skins.

If this was the case then there would be no point in buying Rune Pages at all. I bought 8 rune pages with IP so I'm sure other people can do it as well. If you were allowed to edit it in champ select then you could basically counter your enemy no matter what as long as you have the runes for it.

I decided to invest 20K IP in runes instead of champions and it really paid off in the long run. Giving people the chance to edit runes in game would kind of ruin the fun of having the upper hand because of your investments :/. It's just like if you could shop anywhere on the map, then that would ruin the aspect of counter itemizing as what you buy in base wouldn't matter any more. Just my thoughts.

Riot will never allow this change. The entire point of being unable to edit rune pages in champion selection is to sell more rune pages. If we can edit them, we'll never need to buy more rune pages, thus cutting Riot's profits. Riot needs their profits man, don't you know how poor they are right now?

I think this would only make sense if you already have 20 runepages. If it were available to everyone I'd expect a refund for the 18 runepages I bought with IP and RP.

If rune pages were allow to be changed during game they would be ruin the game entirely, people would just adjust them to eachother and exploit it.

Just a terrible idea.

but but but but..... people wouldn't need to spend their hard earned IP/RP on pages anymore......

Reason why Rune pages won't be editable before game begins:

-Reduces necessity of buying rune pages.

There. F2P gain money with aesthetics and exploiting player impatience.

If you're going to do this you might as well make rune pages free.

I do happen to think that either rune pages or runes should be made cheaper, but if Riot doesn't want to do that then they're not going to do this either.

Another idea could be to get rid of the rune page system entirely, you just choose your marks, seals, glyphs, & quints when you choose your champion.

That is a revenue stream for RIOT. Some people buy their pages with RP.
