Autofill isn't doing what it was designed to do.

Yes, I have a problem with this system, get over it. The reason that RIOT invented this system, was to in fact decrease queue times. Guess what happened? They got worse due to people not wanting to play what they queued for. So, they dodge, OVER and OVER again. If it's not them being unhappy about them getting autofilled, aka, support, then they play some off meta shit and ruin bot lane as a whole, that or they just do not play to their fullest potential. Yes, we can "suck it up", but isn't League meant to be competitive? I would rather practice for a sport I enjoy, than one where I absolutely fucking hate and win the series for my team. Why would you force someone to play a role that 5% of the player-base enjoys to play, at the cost of -5 minutes? Doesn't really add up to me, I have speculations that you wanted people play support more. I cannot even fathom otherwise. The queue times are literally LONGER than they were before, so I have some advice for you guys. Instead of the boards being cluttered with "autofill is x", get rid of it in lower elo. You had it designed for Diamond+ elo when you first introduced it, no one bitched and complained. Or, we can just continue with ranked games being ruined because people are being forced to play something their not wanting to, in the most competitive game in the planet. Get trolls, constant dodges, people bitching in game. Your choice RIOT, you seem to know what's best for us, don't you?

Games aren't being "ruined" by autofill: they're being lost because of sheer incompetence. Riot has been telling you to be able to play all 5 roles. It does not take much to pick up a couple champions for each role (given that you're already required to own 16 champions before you can even start ranked), and it's not hard to learn Soraka/Sona and Leona/Thresh/Blitzcrank. Or, here's a new idea: Ask to swap with someone, if you can't play a role. It's reduced queue times overall, and the only really needed change is harsher penalties for dodging games in normal matches (low-prio Q after the second dodge in a month should be enough to cover the occasional crash) so that people are far less likely to piss everyone off by being an ass, just because they didn't get what they wanted.

Yea man, honestly. I have absolutely no clue when riot will understand this is costing us many many ranked games...

Or maybe they're doing it on purpose so we don't "climb too fast"

Before Autofill, we just rolled the dice and hoped we got a role we liked, but we didn't have to wait 10 minutes before ultimately getting relegated to supporting.

I think this, paired with the psychological effect of being promised your role by the system then not getting it, are the sources of frustration.
