New champion select: Great for ranked (arguably), terrible for normals.

I've been going through a lot of responses to the new champion select here on the boards. I've seen a lot of people who love it, and a lot of people who don't. But this is simply what I think.

1. New champion select has made ranked play much more organized, and all around better ("4 player group with 1 solo player" problem aside)
2. New champion select has ruined normals for me. I can no longer have it in my mind that I want to play a certain champion in a certain role, because there is a good chance Riot will decide I need to play my secondary role.
3. If I want to play something highly off-meta, for instance Gangplank bot, but the people I'm matched with don't want me to do that, there are only 2 terrible options for us. Someone could dodge, or I could decide to play a champion i didn't want to play. It's not fair for anyone really.
4. If I want duo top, or duo mid with a friend, TOO BAD. It doesn't fit into Riot's meta.

Look, the replacement of Teambuilder has taken away so much freedom in the normals. And for what purpose? Lower queue times? A more competitive atmosphere for normals, where your players are already too damn serious?

If you are intent on keeping teambuilder gone, at least give us the ability to pick only one role. I really don't think that would murder your queue times, especially compared to times for TB. As for the rest of the problems Well you can only fix that by bringing back Teambuilder imo.

I don't know about the rest of you, but after 6 years nearly, playing marksman Gangplank or top lane Ashe or jungle Morgana is the only way I can still enjoy this game, having done everything else in the game. By stripping me of the ability to choose who i want where i want, as well as my fellow players' ability to say "I don't want a jungle Morgana", you have all but ruined this game for me.
