Punishment For Losing

I've been having a rough time this season. I'm doing my best to bootstrap my way out of bronze. But I've noticed that now that I've once again got my terrible self into bronze 4, I get 13 lp for winning and lose 24 Lp on losses. It seems untenable. I've pushed my way to always getting A or S rank even in defeat but find in going nowhere fast. A this working as intended?

It's pretty much working as intended.

The LP system isn't about how good you are, it's about how well you can climb. The system thinks it knows where you should be, and so it adjusts your LP gain and loss numbers to keep you there. What you need to do is gain LP in this seemingly unfair situation to make it recognize that you should actually be ranked higher.

My suggestion is that you make at least a third of your daily games normal matches. In normals you can freely work on your weaknesses without risking LP. People often think ranked is where you get better, but it's simply where you test yourself. You first gain your skills in regular matches.

So play far more normal games than you do ranked. If you keep pushing yourself to improve you'll start climbing.
