What Elo is your average player in?

So as the title suggests what Elo do you think the average lol playet is in? Gold 3, Silver One, go ahead, make your guess. Now, do you have your guess? Good, because your average league player is in Silver 5 and Bronze 1. Shocked? Well, when you think about it it shouldn't be. Since league takes a lot of knowledge and general skill to be good at, it may take you a year or two to really start getting good. And most people have only been playing for a couple of years. So before you tell someone if they aren't in gold one they are bad, remember that most players are in fact, in silver five.

You would be suprised at how many people think that if you aren't in gold or plat you suck at the game and any decent argument you can make that are contrary to their belief are automatically invalid because of that.

I actually believe this. The funny thing is when you're in a silver game (I know this all too well) and someone calls you trash. Like, everyone in silver elo is trash, what's your point? [zombie-brand-mindblown]

just remember the actual point of the game is to have fun and enjoy it.

here is a though about rank...

rank isnt something to be ashamed of. i feel rank is just a way for riot to put players of similar skill levels vs each other so they can have fair games and enjoy and have fun playing the game... hear me out...

you are bronze.. what if every game you matched vs plats and diamonds? and you get stomped up and down the map and the game is no fun to you.. are you likely to keep playing if that is what happens every time?

on the other hand if your plat/diamond whatever "high" elo if you playing vs people lower skill level then you is that fun not every being challenged? it would be like if you were to go play a game co op vs bots or a custom game vs bots and the difficult is set on easy?

how fun is that?

so in theory rank is there to put us vs people we have a chance to win against while being challenged so the game is fun and rewarding at the same time and keeps you playing..

I completely agree, the entire point of this post was to show people that just because they are silver or bronze doesn't automatically make them shit at the game. Well that and to get the Elo elitetists to shut up.

And here I thought the 50th percentile was somewhere in the range of Silver III to Silver IV. Guess I had it a little high.

You should see Overwatch... 50th percentile is the split between Gold and Plat. It's ridiculous; being Plat is worthless because more than half of players have reached it at some point.
