Probably not high on the priority list because hes not played that much, but tbh xerath is utter cancer. The damage, 2 forms of cc, the range, AOE for no reason, mana sustain. What even is xerath? The only saving grace from making him literally the most obnoxious champ in the game is his ulti has a learning curve. But tbh that does not mitigate the fact that he can hold an entire lane at bay with one spell thats on a low ass cd, and god forbid you should be standing next to the minion wave while trying to cs. There goes half your health. How to play Xerath: Clear the wave with one spell (or two spells if you really want to shove). Hold your huge hitbox stun for if anyone tries to get cheeky with you, safe lane rinse and repeat. Where is the counterplay? Wait till he falls asleep cause the game is too easy for him?

Edit: Oops, forgot to mention, hes clearing the wave from HIS FUCKING TURRET. HE DOESNT EVEN HAVE TO APPROACH THE WAVE.

Sounds like you just got shit on by Xerath. And checking your OP.GG yes you did, the thing is all 4 of his abilities are skill shots, he has no movement abilities, he has good sustain and if he burns his abilities he's dead. You just lost though, no point in complaining about a game where you lost to a champion once.....in an ARAM.

As a xerath player I just have to say (and this is coming from a skillshot heavy player in general) get good at dodging. Xer's Q and W are very easaly seen coming, and his e is not a very fast mover AND not even all that good if he has to get in close (it scales with distance traveled).

There are many who counter and make xer sad, I personally HATE laning into a zed or fizz, or a good syndra or morg. Ech.
