Why Does Karma Have Low Winrate?

I recently bought Karma and I've played her a few times already. Some games went good, others went bad. But I wanted to improve myself and started to search around on the internet. I ended up on champion.gg and discovered that she had a holy 44% winrate. 44%! That's really really low. Now I'm wondering, why is she so low? Is it because no one knows how to play her or is it because she's just very lacking compared to other support? Oh, and to the high mastery Karma players, please give me some advice on how to play her :) Thank you!

Okay so she's had a negative winrate across everything for quite a while,but a single patch just gutted her in ANTICIPATION of her being op meanwhile every other support mage would be just as buffed with the patch's changes

Support Karma would go Locket and Redemption,Redemption was nerfed to not heal for shit as a first item and Locket was nerfed to scale off of hp and isn't even a decent item until like level 16 and is only great when you get Gargoyle's stoneplate.

These were nerfed while other support items were buffed namely item 3174 except the reason Karma was strong was that she could do huge teamwide healing while not dying her self. In that same patch they nerfed Karmas shield in like 2 different places so now it sucks balls if you DON'T stack shield boosting items

Old Karma shield before RicklessAbandon does what he does best 240base at level 5 Karma shield after RicklessAbandon raped her, 170 base 170 what the fuck is that even going to do, every other characters shield is big enough to block at least 1 ability AND every other shielder maxed their shield so they actually got there You can't max shield with Karma cause then her Q does no damage, and has it's moderate cooldown on an ability that SHOULD have a low cooldown at level 1 not go down the ratio with the shield was already worse than lulu's and janna's

Karma was never even great before the shield buffs that made her played and then got gutted as she has no Hard CC,the worst soft cc out of every support,youd have idiots saying she does a lot of damage but every mage should?

They complain that Karma's Rq does too much damage but it COMBINES 2 ABILITIES and does 785+150%(that's if youre hit by it 2x which isn't possible unless they can't move but they're complaining that she does it from range so we can't imagine Karma used her easy to get out of snare) Ap While Lux ANOTHER MAGE SUPPORT Does 940+165% ap with Her R+Q

SO Karma's really lacking in every department a champion could No Niche,Low damage for a Mage,low cc for a support,passive that should definitely be on her R(Lux gets a cooldown lowering passive on HER R would you look at that) and her itemizations got forced into glass defense if she wants to do anything but be a crappy shield bot

BUT League is super snowbally so if your team gets ahead you can still win with her and if shes fun for you just continue using her.

that sounded so depressing because I really like playing her... but if you'd get the chance to rework/buff her, what would you do?

Karma doesn't have the tools to mid lane effectively, and her support skill RE was obnoxious so it needed to be nerfed. She needs a small rework.

To play Karma effectively all you need is good game knowledge, there's really nothing to her mechanically or otherwise she's simple. If you're playing mid poke with RQ, then regular Qs until your Mantra is back up and RQ again. If you're support RE when you're team is grouped, then Q until your Mantra is back up and RR again.

When I see people say that Karma mid sucks they either have not played against a good one or have no idea how to play her. Karma can put out solid damage through out all points of the game. When I play Karma mid I normally do the most damage in the game. I have gotten to Masters playing just Karma, mainly Karma mid but also Karma top and support.

Some tips

Q farming does require to have special positioning to maximize your farming capabilities, You level 1 pushing power is quite strong. Use Mantra Q in between the casters and melee minions, Q back line minions again and auto remaining minions down. This lets you shove really hard level 1 and it will let you harass your lanning opponent or go ward or help your jungler invade. Q does have decently wide AOE hitbox so even if they are standing behind their minions you cant hit the enemy champion a good chunk of the time. IF you are looking to Mantra Q cast W and then press R and wait for the root to apply, you can shave off an extra two seconds on your R. Which is much more noticeable with 45% cdr and your passive. There is a lot of other things but here was just a few tips.

Her Q's damage isn't good enough to be a midlaner, and they gutted her shield a few patches back so she's only a below average support anymore, she's just in dire needs of a buff or even rework, but Riot won't give us that, lol...

Also Karma isn't too much of a complicated champion at all, self-E to walk towards your opponents to RQ them is a good way to poke effectively with her.
