9.17 Concerns

This patch is a double edged sword. By that, I mean that Kayle is getting a buff but Aurelion sol is being nerfed. Aurelion’s W is the center of his skill set, so by putting a time limit on his toggle ability is only going to hurt him. Also, his passive movement speed on his E is an essential asset for him. However the changes to his Q are not bad and neither are the changes to the active of his E, but if the main parts of his kit are taken away instead of enhanced, it will only harm his gameplay and make him even more disliked by players. I highly recommend keeping Aurelion’s W alone at the very least.

If you have an other opinion, please share, because honestly Aurelion has been needing a buff.

I would also like to clarify that leaving Aurelion’s W as is, means to leave it as a toggle ability (before 9.17)

It's not as bad as it seems. He's getting a huge damage burst window, and less sustained damage output/roaming strength. He's very strong in the right hands, but only a negligible portion of the player base can even utilize him well. You would expect "A giant space dragon" to be one of Legaue's most iconic champs but Sol failed to hit the mark due to his gameplay patterns.

Even if they are objective nerfs, the primary goal is broadening his Playrate.

Aurelion Sol has felt weaker this season than previous ones. I don't know if these changes are good, but if Riot consistently keeps working on Sol, then I'm okay with the experiments.

I think the ASol rework is a a good one on paper. After playing it I might change my mind but until then...

He can still roam, he can just be punished for it a little more. His E range got buffed, still lets him bypass walls and wards, he just doesn't have the MS buff to shave lots of time from returning.

He still has a high uptime on his W at higher ranks. 2s CD at rank 5 without CDR. And now it has a MS buff to help reposition and kite away from someone jumping on you.

Kayle's changes feel like a re-rework more than a "buff".

I miss my top lane angel, can't wait to play her again.

Hell she might be decent mid lane too.
