Why am I having 10 minute queue times in silver

to find the answer to this problem you must first look at another problem.
When people put support as their secondary role, They get support 90% of the time. (or so they say). When people put fill as their secondary role, They get support 90% of the time (or so they say).
With this in mind obviously people wanna play their primary role, right? So they stop putting support and fill in either one of their preferred roles.
So now you have a shortage of supports. meaning half the time you're in queue is basically just waiting on more supports to enter the queue.
The people are mad that they keep getting support whenever they show any signs of willing to support. this leads to less and less people showing signs they are willing support.. which just makes the problem worse.
People need to start putting support as one of their roles. If enough people do this, the long queues will disappear.
OR, instead of expecting people to willingly do something they dislike, Riot can make support more fun/less irrelevant to play.
if you think supports are irrelevant you need to change that mentality.
Supports are capable of making soooooo many plays. It's literally their job to make plays. in every other role you gotta kill minions and neutral monsters to gain gold, but supports, nope. instead of spending your time getting gold you're spending or time looking for plays. Plays win games.
a good support can singlehandedly carry games. 1 right hook, 1 right binding, 1 right stun, 1 clutch heal...All it takes is 1. and the results? Dead enemies. Dead enemies equals dead objectives.
Supporting is Super fun cause its your sole job to make the plays.
And plays, Win games.
If supporting was actually as fun and relevant as the other 4 lanes, it'd be played equally as much. There is honestly no good reason for supports to be significantly weaker than the other 4, but they are, and that's why no one plays it.
