AUTOFILL IS A POS :D I just got tilted into oblivion, autofill adc; AUTOFILL ADC?!??!?!!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Who do I get to at least give a pie to the face over this autofill decision?

(I love that we at least get to take out our frustration against rioters as other developers would consider us insects and step on us<3333)

anger and things <3 tho

We all like Riot so much at the end of the day.

Autofill is a necessary evil. Prior to the New Champion Select (the ability to queue for 2 roles), you got your preferred roles or didn't depending on random pick order and what the other players were willing to compromise; matchmaking didn't care if you were all ADC mains and hated every other role.

With the NCS you've got a considerably better shot at matchmaking arranging a team more evenly comprised of players suited to each role. The kicker is that sometimes it is very difficult for matchmaking to create a reasonable even match and do that, so the options are either A) take longer, sometimes VERY long looking, or B) sometimes place people in positions they aren't comfortable in.

auto fill only exists because there are roles that no one wants to play. it is NOT a necessary evil. If you turn this game into a 4v4, then autofill disappears because you can afford to give the 4 remaining players more agency.

League is a 5v5 game. If you do not like 5v5 you need to go play a different mode or a different game.

Or they can create a different mode. I used to say they should get rid of support. In my more unreasonable moments, I still do. At other times, Ill make the above argument which is different.

You say that like it is an absolute. Well, riot has changed its philosophy before.

They have said that they do not support any given meta. Well that clearly isnt true given that they have quite literally installed the support role into the drafting process. Support is now a role that is enforced by the User Interface as well as the balance decisions they repeatedly make. If they can swing that far on this issue, then they can create a new game mode where we duo lanes are not a requirement and that would be a 4v4 scenario.

You can play a support role in a 4v4 sum rift. You would just have more gold to do it with. The difference is only that there is no duo lane and we dont ask people to auto fill anymore.

Atlas shrugged bby. You dont have the right to force me to support. I really ought to troll the shit out of the game whenever it happens to me, but im not that kind of person. By making the game uncomfortable for all of the players on my team, I would punish riot by making their game as toxic as possible. I dont think its worth doing that to myself and others, but it would be justified in some philosophies.

Btw, who else thinks its funny that the most subsidized role in league is also the role you are most likely to be conscripted into playing?

I dont like being forced into things, but I might even be ok with it if I understood why having at least one duo lane is SOOOO important that we have to coddle it the way we do.

Having a Support is enforced just as much as having a Jungler, a Solo Top and a Solo Mid. If you're going to cry about Riot "enforcing the meta" with this you're about a season late.

I have a hard time understanding people who aren't willing to play other roles. If you played impromptu games of Soccer with different groups over and over you wouldn't expect to get your first or even second favorite role all the time. You certainly wouldn't go and troll your team by kicking the ball out of bounds each time you weren't in your favorite position.

If you're so determined to not play a certain position, queue up with a group.

jungle is a position. Support is not only a role, it is also a specific tactic called resource funneling.

When you love Riot Games and League of Legends but you're angry at them and want them to know how you feel but not get the wrong impression of you.
