Good beginner ELO?
What is the average rank to be at for someone’s first season of League? What would be a good goal for first season ?

there is no goal. MMing is random and shit. whatever elo you place in expect to be stuck there a good while regardless of if you even deserve to be there or not.
silver/gold is "average" elo tho according to riot. that is where the vast majority of players are at and its the worst place to be in terms of toxicity and inconsistent MMing. so if you get there get out asap. even droping down to bronze is better.
If you just started I would expect iron because it’s a hard game especially if you don’t come from other mobas
I would say bronze or silver, but with that said if you are a genuine new player to the game you should focus on improving your play game by game and not worry super hard about climbing because its going to be tough as a new player. I didn't get to silver til midway through my 2nd season.
Focus on improving map awareness (watching minimap and reacting to your team/enemy teams movements), CS if you are not support or jg, and farm/gank paths as jg, warding, and learning and mastering champs you enjoy and learning the mechanics of champs you come up against.
As with learning any new game even if you are an experienced gamer it can be tough at first, but if you steadily focus on personal improvement you will gradually get better and climb. If you put too much emphasis on a desired rank it can be frustrating and take away from your enjoyment of the game, and if that is the case whats the point.
Hope this helped
so the average player is in Bronze or Silver. When you place, placing in Iron is expected, but you should climb quickly to bronze even if you are pretty bad.
Once you get comfortable with the game as a whole and know a few champions pretty well you should climb into silver pretty easily.
Getting into Gold puts you above 55% of players and can be challenging depending upon you and your playstyle.
I would recommend seeing where you land and shooting for Silver your first season. Each season you play shoot to move up 1 bracket.
Some climbing tips:
#1: Mute players after 1 negative comment...always.
#2: Support your team by saying "gj top" or "gj bot" after every good play they make.
#3: Always be improving yourself, wins aren't super important.
Some particular things to work on: Placing and destroying wards. CS Objective understanding Positioning Pings Map awareness Compositional strengths and weaknesses & game flow.
Good luck with the climb mate.
