Proposed Idea for Handling Toxic Players in Ranked

Out of all the toxic players that exist in LOL, I feel that trolls (specifically in ranked) are the worst embodiment of them. It doesn't happen frequently, but when you get a true troll it will completely destroy your chance at victory.

Therefore, I suggest that a method be put in place to kick trolls from a ranked game during the game. [IMPORTANT] I am talking about real trolls that will make you lose the game no matter what and I have thought this through, please don't judge this post by the cover, thank you.

There are those games where your team would be better off if one player simply stood in base, AFKed, whatever. I am not talking about those games where someone just isn't doing well. I am talking about games where you get a troll who literally just runs at the enemy all game to give them kills. I propose that Riot put in place a mechanic, similar to surrender and only in ranked, that allows the remaining 4 players to decide to kick a player or not. Obviously, this kind of thing would need serious limitations, so I have thought of a few ways to make this mechanic fair and incapable of kicking players that are not trolling. These are the requirements that I think would allow this to work:

  • A player must be below a threshold of cs, (kill + assist):death ratio
  • A player must be doing significantly worse then his teammates
  • 3/4 of the remaining players must vote yes to kick him

These rules would, if implemented properly and with high enough thresholds, allow teams to only kick people actively trying to lose the game, and prevent duo queues from preventing the kick vote.

Let me hear what you guys think, and please ask me to explain things, because I know this post is kind of scrambled around.

EDIT: I completely forgot to mention that cs:go has a feature like this, but that it doesn't have the limitations of score and stuff.

I don't really see the upside. Seems like, by the time you notice someone is feeding, making the game a 4v5 isn't going to improve your winning chances much.

On the other hand, I see huge downside in having 4/5 to surrender, but 3/5 to kick a player out of the game. Seems like a guy who isn't doing that well, but doesn't want to surrender, is quite likely to get shoved out the airlock for spite.

I played a match once which we were winning by a landslide because the enemy team blew their entire load on our tank Warwick every time. This caused Warwick to get 1 assist and 1 death each fight while we aced the enemy with 0-1 further deaths.

Then some retard had to flame Warwick for having a bad score and he went afk.
