how to climb as main support @ silver 5?

Hi, I'm currently playing Lux as support in Silver 5. I can honestly say I'm mechanically not the best. I miss some skillshots here and there but as for game sense I'm doing great on that department. Anyway, I started at S3 and demoted to S5. I only played sup, started with Janna/Lulu and then got into Lux because supporting noobs makes no sense. But I'm still losing games due to feeding top/mid mostly. Is there a way i can influence the game so it definitely goes my way or at least have a higher chance of winning? Lux summoner 14

well you're playing lux 'support'

and im guessing you're not building a supports kit.

AP MID lux typically builds: item 3165 item 3020 item 3285 item 3135 item 3157 item 3089 or item 3027 item 3102

Support lux should be building much differently: item 3174 item 3504 item 3092 etc.

Suport lux maxes Q first, AP mid lux maxes E first. E costs nearly 2x the amount of mana, and the snare timer will benefit you in lane more to send out q + ult for enough burst to either take down the enemy, or let your adc finish them off.

A simple one is trying to track the jungler and pinging/saying where he is. It literally helps everyone by a ton if you can spot him. You effect the whole map.

Play support with solo kill potential. Lux and Blitzcrank are good examples.

The best way to win is to go into the game with a plan. Make changes to the plan as you need to in game, but the plan always ends in you winning. If your plan and execution is better you'll win

Here's an example of my default plan on my main, your plan may or may not look like this depending on what your champ can do.

  1. Win lane, crush the enemy adc's gold gain
  2. Get dragon, get them all
  3. Get Herald, usually before 12 minutes
  4. Take all the towers, obviously you don't need to take all but that's the idea
  5. Take all the inhibs
  6. End

First step: STOP PLAYING LUX SUPPORT

Who keeps telling people to do this!?

Well stop playing support if possible, if not then find a premade and abuse Janna/Lulu/Sona/Soraka . You cant climb with Lux support because its basically a troll pick, you either build AP and lose because you have no wards and no shields/heals or you go the actual support item route and realize that there is a reason why Lux isnt a support - she hasn't got enough stuff to give if she doesn't have tons of AP. If you really want to keep playing AP supports switch to VelKoz and Brand since they only need rylai+liandrys to be useful unlike some other picks who require full AP build to utilize.

I've found a strategy as support that's been doing well for me lately. Basically I took the jungler mentality of abandoning a losing lane to keep pressure on lanes that are winning.

So, generally around 20min/mid game, if my adc is bailing hard I will go and support whichever lane is being the most successful. Obviously this depends on who the champs are. If I know my adc is a late game monster and just needs my supp longer then I'll stay.

Pick Zyra. Kill everyone. Carry game.
