Is the ranked matchmaking system rigged?

I don't want to beat a dead horse here, but I feel like the system intentionally puts players with higher win rates and ranks against players who are lower so that certain individuals go on losing sprees and others go on win sprees. It's getting so bad for me that I think want to permanently put down League and encourage my friends to do the same. After analyzing the stats each round thanks to Mobalytics, I've noticed that the enemy team almost always has higher win rate and higher rank players in every single lane every single game. Why does League choose certain people who aren't allowed to see the victory screen, and why am I one of them?

I've played the game on and off for 3 years. I only picked up ranked recently at the end of this season after hitting level 30 for the second time. My promos were great and fun, all my team mates were competent and I was able to play well among the players in plat, gold, and silver. I placed Silver 3, which I was pretty proud of. But ever since they ended, I have had a horrifying win rate. Every single game, with perhaps a 10% exception, my team mates in lane feed or leave. This sounds very cliche but I'm serious- my games are all really, really bad. At first I thought this was because I was playing support, so I switched to jungle(which is the role I have the most experience in) but the same thing kept happening. No matter how hard I try, no matter what I do, there's no way to put a player on my back who dies as soon as he re-enters lane. So I'm not sure what to do at this point. I've done a lot of research trying to figure out why this is happening to me, but nothing comes up. I've tried carry roles, I've tried being a tank, I've tried being positive and encouraging my team, I've tried muting the chat, I've tried everything, but nothing stops me from losing in ranked.

It really, really seems to me that this game is almost 100% luck and that players who make it out of low elo are so few not because they are skilled, but because they are just lucky.

Meddler (NA) - about an hour ago We don't take your recent games into account when matchmaking, just your current rating. If you're substantially better than your MMR reflects (e.g. Diamond player with Bronze MMR somehow) then you'll have quite a high winrate on average until you get to an MMR where you're facing more even opponents. Eventually as you say you'll probably end up with around a 50% win rate because you're playing people around your own skill level. We're not targeting 50% win rates for people, we're targeting getting their MMR/rank to the appropriate rating, which then tends to result in 50% winrates

It's actually not impossible and the queue times have increased slightly. I remember in Silver/Gold/Platinum Elo being about a 1 minute queue time, sometimes even 30 seconds or less and now it's upwards of 3 minutes or more. Even taking into account that there are less people playing this game now, it wouldn't be hard for Riot to make a system like this with the right team of programmers, which they undoubtedly have access to. The system very clearly takes into account a few factors which I've noticed with consistency.

I used to avg about 8-14 cs per minute in my prime (no I'm not joking I was actually able to beat the 10 cs per minute mark many times over, sometimes in a 25 minute game I would be at 300+ cs) which is really nothing new tbh, many players have done this. How does this go into my example you might ask? Very simple. With my average cs being at or above the 10 cs/min mark I would undoubtedly get matched with players with under avg cs scores. I'm not talking about 70, 80 or even 90 cs by 13-15 minutes. I'm talking about 50 cs in an 18 minute game across the board for most of my teammates vs a team that has 20 less cs than I do across the board. I started playing again recently and I noticed a similar thing. Sometimes I get people who can keep up, and I'm not that good anymore but I still avg about 9 cs/min. and even had a game where I was slightly over the 10 cs/min. mark. So cs is one factor.

Next we have kills. I average about 20+ kills/assists per game in my prime, sometimes I would get to 40, but this was never my goal, it was simply a bi-product of me pushing as hard as I could. My deaths weren't always great, I would usually get about 5 per game but I did have the odd game where I had 10 deaths or 0 deaths but those were extremely rare. In my deaths it was always my goal to burn as much of the other teams ults/summoner spells as possible and I was actually very successful at this. My team would average about 10+ deaths per game across the board. So kills and deaths is yet another factor that Riot can take into account when matching teams.

Next you have damage to turrets/damage to champions. I would usually have very high damage to both while my teams would have very little damage to both. The other team would have about equal damage to each other with one or 2 players doing a bit more than the rest. This is a consistent theme that I've taken very close examination of. If I make a smurf I will steamroll the early games because it really is random until Riot has your stats and consistency of those stats. It's almost better to have a low KDA imo because then you will get a better team most of the time.

It seems you think Riot would have a hard time doing this because you're coming from the perspective of them having to do it all manually when in fact it's a computer program designed to do this in the blink of an eye. You need to wrap your head around the fact that it's an automated system designed to keep you in your place and it doesn't care if you're platinum, gold, bronze or diamond, all it cares is that you are at or around a 50% win rate. They can look at games that are about to end (yes the program can probably predict about when a game will end and when that player will queue up based on how long they've been playing with frightening accuracy) and match you with those players and take the real time stats from those game to figure it into the matchmaking. They can probably tell when a player is on tilt to put them on your team as well. You have no idea what's really going on behind the scenes in this system.

Reports, in-game language and amount of games are another factor that the game takes into account but I'm not even going to get into that because it would take way too much time to dissect this crap. I'll give a simple reasoning for it though. Riot wants to prove their bullshit stats are accurate so what better way to do that than to rig it so that their stats are in fact accurate? You're toxic and said a mean word to someone last game? You'll be on a team with the feeders, trolls and mega ragers in the next few games until you play like a nice boy. Just an FYI, before this system was put into place I was toxic as fuck and made it to a high ELO right before one of my accounts was banned. It has almost 0% effect on most games since the people you're playing with usually just want to win. What does have an effect on the games is Riot rigging them to shit. Try to get past silver/gold on a toxic account these days and see how well you fare. You probably will be lucky to make it out of bronze unless you have some luck.

A lot of players on here seem to be of the mindset that "I do well so you should be able to do the same" and it's really not that simple. Just because I do well in the stock market and average about 30-100% gains per year, essentially beating the market average doesn't mean I don't think it's rigged like shit. It just means I've found a system and I'm willing to stick with it because I'm making money, similar to how top players find a champion that is broken and stick with it because it wins them games and they know how to use it.

TL;DR The game can easily be rigged but you just have to wrap your head around the possibility and not jump to Riot's defense because you believe they're "honest".

As someone also frustrated about ELO hell, I think there is something to it.

Statistically it just doesn't make sense if 70% of the time, my random top laner gets crushed. I don't even expect random tops to win 50% of the time, just to not catastrophically lose to the point that the game is thrown. Yet it has almost become a meme in my experience.

Part of it, my squad has realized, is that we often play with kids going into ranked flex by themselves... and that tends to result in poor performances.

But I would love to see the actual stats around the first 10 minutes of a game with my squad compared to our randoms... there is definitely statistical evidence to back up many player's frustrations with ELO Hell.

Apologies for reviving dead thread ,but my situation is literally and i do mean literally c/p with yours . I don't even have something new to say , but i will say this. Riot as a company will tell what they want . Beeing honest is not neccesity nor does any1 controll them so in other words they can say or answer what they want , and you are left with the deicision to trust them . For me, i refuse . This has not happened once but almost every season i deicided to play . At one point system just doesn't want for you to win . Its rlly hard to explain and expect other ppl to believe this situation since it will be mostly rotated back to us by beeing not that good , but those games no1 can carry and they are most of the time . The sudden and unexpected difference in matchmaking , its not normal .
