ok so im just asking, will keys have an increased use or not in the future, because i am collecting them for no purpose atm...... i mainly play the same few champs in a support role and i have like 30 keys but no boxes...... do i just collect them for the lulz?

nope. a key is only good to unlock something. sucks for your situation though, but I don't see a way around it unless you play more people
glad you have folks you like playing enough that you stick with em though
i know the feeling.. its competely stupid they made boxs per "S" on champ refresh once per season instead of once per month.. or once per week.
i either need to que on a champ i have no idea how to play and ruin the game for 3 other people while a high elo person get an S so i can get a box for that champ. or i just cant get boxes unless i GENUINELY learn how to get an S i a champ i don't even wanna play in the first place.. also runing the game for the four other players son my team by playing a champ i cant play.
