Illaoi ain't as OP/BROKEN as you think she is

Before you all rage at me by saying that she is not broken, listen me out. She is strong indeed, a bit too strong maybe, but look at her kit. She has kinda meh tank stats and the only thing that is high is her AD scaling (Mostly on Q). Okay, nerf her Q i agree. But if you take away all her power in teamfights and raw damage then she is left with nothing. She more like a second Aatrox (R.I.P). She has 0 and i mean ZERO utility, NO GAP CLOSER (her W does not count... small range) and no friggin CC in her kit (Her E? Really, who cares about her E in teamfights?). Her ult? Well true it does look strong, and can be ABSOLUTELY DEADLY in some comps, BUT it lasts for 8 seconds, if you lock her with CC or even displace her with an ability (Lee ult, Vayne E, Skarner ult, Tahm W and so on...) then her ult AND herself become literally useless due to her kit. I saw these things being said by a Dia player so it is not some gold's bs. If RIOT takes away her dmg then she is doomed to oblivion with Aatrox,. What do you guys think about it?. Btw i just joined these forums and i am not sure if RIOT employees read our posts BUT if you do (Dear RIOT) please consider these things before you decide to nerf her. Thank you for hearing me out ^_^

I feel like illaoi just needs ways to get away from her moves. she FORCES you to fight her, and there is nothing you can do.

she is NOT OP BUT very FRUSTRATED like yaso...

Well, she does have a couple problems including her Q hit box not properly represented in her animation and pretty bonkers base stats.

Illaoi has Juggernaut level stats. Her base AD at level 18 is around 145, and her base health around 2200. That is a 40 AD and 200 base health more than other archetype of champions. She is OP for exactly the same reasons Darius was. She can simply win early game due to having better base stats, and her tentacles start off with 120% of her total AD at level 1, scaling to 160% at level 18. No champion can trade evenly against her due to her high base damage and high ratios.

On the current patch, her early game strength is extremely valuable due to games often ending in around 20 minutes. As well, it is frustrating to dodge her tentacles when minions link together to form the Great Wall of China.

However, I do admit that Illaoi falls off eventually mid game. She can't continue building damage since she is prone to being kited. As well, she struggles against range match-ups since her passive essentially becomes free gold.

I think Riot will undoubted nerf Illaoi in the next few patches. Her Q damage, base stats, or E damage will probably be lowered. But I understand your sentiment. She has no real utility besides her E. However, the truth is that she has too much damage even for a bruiser that is meant to be built for damage.

Sadly, she is too strong.

First of all her hitboxes are like Thresh hook to the square. I once died to her Q being literally a width of its hitbox away. Second of all she forces you to fight her with one press of a button. There is nothing you can do to not lose the trade in some way or another. You either tank the damage, fight her to break the bond or walk away, then dance like an idiot for the next minute trying to dodge stupid hitbox of tentacles while being unable to CS or retaliate on Illaoi.

It shouldn't be half as bad playing ranged champion, but good luck playing melee.

Yessss, i explained this almost the same way when I said "I don't think illaoi deserves a ban" and i was called a stupid noob by my whole team. Finaly i see someone has the same opinion. :3

I agree with most of you. Her Q needs some minor fixing and the % dmg transferred to the enemy champ with her E might need some reduction as well, but other than that i think she is like most of the juggernauts. By the way, indeed she is a pain in the ass in the lane but if you think about it (in the top lane) then what about Garen Riven Tryndamere Yorick and many others. It is her job to stall the enemy top laner since her mid-late game aint's that strong IF you know how to play. Cuz most of the times (when i play) they just collapse on me and i get an easy 5/4 man ult and wreck face with 2Ws. BUT there were many times when i got Lee or Tristana ult while in my ult and GOD DAMN at those fights i was so useless... by the way for those who did not know Illaoi will not be getting a nerf at patch 2.24 (and riven gets a buff yay... -_- ). Her win rate is surprisingly around 45%... i think that is because of the reasons i said at the main post. I am glad i see that many people still have some logic in them and think rational.

report every illaoi you come across people will be forced to not play her or riot will be forced to nerf her

I care about her E in teamfights. It's basically a 25-45% current health instant melt on anyone, plus an 80% slow. And she has insane self-healing. I bought her and played one game as support and went 5/2/4. I didn't even understand exactly how her tentacles worked, and didn't know the radius of the ult. And I missed about half my abilities. Didn't matter. I towerdove the jungler and the adc who were both at 25% health alone, killed them both, and left. My marksman didn't even know her champ.

A champion with no sticking power and no lockdown NEEDS to do damage, if anything IMO Illaoi needs buffs.
