No I will not "friend" you just so you can continue an argument.

Somebody tries to start an argument and as soon as I see where it's heading I stop it immediately by telling them "ignored" (but then I don't really ignore them because I enjoy watching them rage without me saying anything else) but I just stop talking and can't be baited further. At the end of the match, they want to add me to their "friend" list...nope, not happening. I can't possibly think of anything positive that would come out of that situation.

Yeah the number of people that want to friend you after games just to talk shit / whine is kind of nuts. I've never accepted any of those requests and never will.

I always try to friend people from the forum or in game to play games with them in Aram or special game modes. Unfortunately, certain posters or in game players seem to never accept friendly request. Normally, a player requesting a friend request is to have people to play with in the future.

You did the right thing OP, under those condition I don't think they wanted to add you to their friend list to play games together in the future.

I always accept their friend requests

And then I just let them rant. When they are done, I just say "ok good talk" and remove them.

Hopefully ranting makes them feel better.

An alternate way to stop the raging is just to say "please, continue". If they keep typing insults, encourage them by saying "go on". They either immediately realize what you are doing (setting them up for a juicy report) or they keep digging their grave and risk a ban.
