@meddler @riot considering the recent zed change.

Recently, there has been a change to zeds ultimate. It has a 1 second cooldown before you can shadow back to ur ultimate shadow.

im going to state what this change means for zed:

Zed can now be hard-countered by gameplay. specifically any type of CC ala Ahri, Orianna, Lissandra, etc.

Zed now has less options as a champion.

Zeds "skill-matchup" counters like Lissandra, Orianna, and Ahri and to be honest any other type of CC will turn into a "hard-counter" matchup rather than skill-matchup.

Zed is now easier to read as an opponent and easier to react to.

Basically, what im trying to make a point of is that this change hurts zeds identity and gameplay value and options of what he can do in matchups and games. this creates an easier and more binary gameplay. matchups that are " this matchup is skill-matchup and you can beat them" turns into "this matchup is yours to lose and u have to play according to the enemy rather than what you can do"

this also changes zeds late game, and team fight scenario. he turns from a "great split-pusher, and weak in team fights due to enemy CC" into a "should split-push because u will die in a team fight". which i doubt riot wanted.

im not sure if im going deep enough in this post. but there is also a great video of Azoh explaining more about this zed change.

i would like to hear the community thoughts and riots thoughts on this.

EDIT: and im not saying zed should not be nerfed. what im trying to say is that Riot should be nerfing him in a different way that does not change Zeds gameplay and options of what he can do in a game.

EDIT 2:

someone made a great point to this in reddit http://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/35udrq/riot_could_you_make_zeds_ability_to_jump_back_to/

they said to decrease the delay on ult lvls. so that at lvl 3 ult he becomes same as it is now. that will make his early-mid game easier to counterplay. and his already weak late game wont be hurt by this change.

so lvl 6 it is 1 second. at lvl 11 it is 0.5 seconds. and at lvl 16 there is no delay.

what do u all think?

Well riot doesn't care if some champions has super hard counter. Lux gets trashed by fizz like she literally has zero options but riot doesn't care

i completely agree. Riot removing options of champions and creating more linear gameplay actually hurts League of Legends in general rather than it helps.

I think Riot should just nerf Zeds W or E. adjust base damages or ratios or the W steroid.

just stop messing with zeds R (or Q) and we will be fine.

Or you could sacrifice the extra shuriken damage by using your Living Shadow first somewhere safe.

the whole issue is that his gameplay is too safe and reliable... soooo Riot is making him less safe and reliable. If he needs more damage or better late game scaling in exchange for this needed counterplay in order to remain relevant, they'll give it to him, but this is probably the healthiest change they could make that isn't just a flat nerf to his numbers (which wouldn't fix any of his problems).

If you can all-in, 100-0 your opponent in less than a second and get out with the only damage you take being the turret shot you took while tower diving, then you cannot really justify having your champion be at the balance state that he's in.

And don't even tell me that you can't do that as Zed. Febiven did that exact same thing at MSI against Faker, of all players.

Zed is going to lose an option, but it's also not an option he should have anyways. No champion should be able to get that much free damage and be able to get away with it for free.

The problem is that this nerf doesn't add any counterplay beyond "now you can sometimes kill Zed before you die". The instant combo that Zed currently employs still exists, and if you'd die from it now, you still will after the nerf. If Riot would instead add counterplay to the combo itself, not only would this nerf be unnecessary it would solve Zed's current issues without removing his ability to assassinate people, unless you consider his ability to kill someone in a 1v5 is an important part of his identity.

Whenever I saw a Zed tear up a Yasuo so professionally, I knew the Zed nerf was coming. 2 days later, here it is. :/

Let's face it, there is no way a half decent Zed loses lane. He might not necessarily win lane, but he's not losing his tower without at least 3 people being there.

He could use some nerfs, I'd prefer it'd be to his laning though.
