Ranking Up Doesn't Change Gameplay

Going from Bronze, to Plat 1, you can see a lot of the same stuff.

Are the players better? Not really. Are the players good at dodging skill shots and getting farm? Rarely. Are people still greedy? Yup.

You'd think when you get to the top 27,000 of players in League that theyd understand the game. But it still feels like im in the same elo when i play in silver, to gold, to plat, and diamond. When do the players actually start caring? When do the players stop being greedy?

Just last game I got our Gangplank 2 kills lvl 1, and Varus 2 kills level 1. Yet both ended up losing lane hard because they overextend without wards or vision of Zac. GP loses 1v1 to kled top. Like this is plat 2-1 elo. We lost in the end.

I noticed in plat things got better but games tended to end with one or 2 people wondering around without vision or like u said, overextending for something as stupid as cs. The sad thing is it wasn’t usually the team. Just 1 maybe 2 people that slowly throw a lead. Repeatedly getting caught the same way.

I posted something a while back that better describes ( in my experience) the differences of rank:

Bronze low mechanical and low macro Silver low mechanics OR low macro Gold average mechanical, low macro OR average macro, low mechanical Platinum average mechanical and average macro Diamond High level mechanical and average macro OR average mechanical and high macro Master++ High mechanical/High Macro

As you can see, the differences between the lower tiers is virtually very low. The difference between Bronze and gold is only 1 small step of increased level of gameplay

I can't speak to this season because I just refuse to play ranked, and almost don't even play at all anymore period, but in the past 7 seasons I can tell you that there are marked differences between Bronze, Silver, Gold and Plat.

The biggest difference in Bronze vs. Plat is decision making. I have seen some Bronze players with amazing mechanics (not often, but sometimes), but they end up losing the game because they make bad decisions when it comes to engaging, where to be on the map, target prioritization and itemization.

With all of that having been said, Plat players are better at dodging skill shots by way of knowing how to position themselves better so as to be on the outer edge of the range of skillshots, thus giving themselves maximum amount of time to dodge.

Plat players are still greedy to an extent, sure... you will always have the guy that's fed and thinks they can 1v5, in Bronze that guy might be able to 1v5 because people have slower reaction times, they play scared or they just don't have the coordination to deal with it, in Plat that's just not the case so you see less of it.

Believe me, there's VERY frustrating games and individuals in Gold/Plat, but at that Elo it's more about the ego of the player than in lower tiers... at least in my experience.
