I can't believe I'm saying this but...

I really hope the next champion is an assassin. We haven't had one in forever, as I'm pretty sure the last true assassin was Zed. Jhin had an assassin secondary, but we haven't had a real assassin in a long time. Id prefer an ap assassin, but we could really use on in champion production right about now.

We don't need a new AP assassin item. Yall just want one for the sake of having one.

We had an AP assassin item. But any mage could pick them up, and fill the Assassin's role. (rip DFG) All because damage is damage.

AD Assassin items kinda have the same problem, which is why Riot is changing up, replacing raw damage with utility that an Assassin would want. Which begs the question, should we make an AP item with the same kind of Assassin utility? Well, maybe, but most AP Assassins that I can think of, don't really use those same utilities. (Thinking Akali, Kass, etc, already have enough damage items that they don't need extra mobility) And Akali and Eve are the only AP Assassins with stealth, a stealth based utility would be too restrictive.

So what kind of Assassin utility would an AP Assassin want?

DeathfireGrasp was never an "AP assasin" item. It was a mage item that provided a damage amp on single target, inteaded for anyone to use.

Nothing about it geared it wards AP assassins specifically at all. Nothing. It was gottem on single target and burst mages alike and Riot never intended anythign beyond that.

AP assassins already benefit from all the AP utility items they get from mages just fine. They also have the benefit of scaling way harder and providing Magic damage instead of physical, which also is mitigated less by armor and tanky targets in general, but also doesn't compromise the teams share of damage types the way an AD mid would.

AN AP assassin can build item 3157 . An AD one doesn't.

AP assassins don't need new items. AD Assassins really did tho.

Define "true assassin". Ekko was intended as an assassin with a slightly slower burst pattern.

And was an utter failure

As far as I knew, that was his class designation given before discussion of the classes and subclasses. Now he is classified as a skirmisher.

Oh, I guess you're right. He's played as a tank so much that I kind of forgot he was supposed to be an assassin.

Ekko was designed as a Skirmisher, like MasterYi Yasuo but with AP.

He was designed similarly to Diana, Diver/Skirmisher's which basically makes them assassins in the early/mid game and skirmisher's in the late game. I honestly think in the assassin update he'll still be annoying but FULL tank will be less prominent, i will still go my usual AP skirmisher build though like i do on Diana.

But anyway i'd actually love another assassin, preferably an AD mid assassin since we only have 2. But they should take some points from the reworks they just released to prevent game health issues and points from ekko to prevent overloading.

I mean considering that they have a history of bringing even more trouble to the game than Kalista, Kindred, and Azir combined... Actually no, just look at Ekko.

They should focus on doing some rework before making another one, so we can always wait =)

according to my scientific calculations am guessing the next champion is either a jungler or a support. last jungler was kindred. last support was tahm kench. tahm was released earlier. so probably a support. last assassin was ekko. which ekko was released before kindred but after tahm. so thats possible as well but personally. I kind of doubt it. especially after the assassin rework gonna seem redundant. and its gonna be hard to make a unique assassin without making them abusable if they had a too over the top kit cough cough ekko jdfoisdkjfopisdjfgijdsopfkpodsf sorry throat.

Jhin is an assassin, but in a different sense from the traditional assassins in League. He deals his damage from a distance where he is on the corner of the team fight out of the way, but still bursting targets in his line of fire. He is THE Sniper, more so than Caitlyn in my opinion with his 4 auto attack shots and long sniper shots making positioning important.
