A new idea for Taliyah's W

So, I think I've played Taliyah enough to be able to speak on this subject. As most of you undoubtedly know, Taliyah's W used to be very different, but some people thought it was clunky and wanted vector casting for it, meanwhile many other people wanted it to stay the way it was. In my personal opinion, I don't think Taliyah's W felt clunky because was clunky. I think it felt clunky because it was new. Different. But that's irrelevant right now.

I propose a change; Make Taliyah's W cast the instant you press the button. The direction would then be decided when you released the button. Release it on top of the W to knock straight up. In other words; Best of both worlds! New Taliyah players get the familiar Vector Casting and the old Taliyah players get the issue of delay fixed, in addition to getting the possibility of a straight up knock-up back as well.

I think this change would make playing Taliyah a lot smoother, and probably a bit more fun as well.

Edit; I made a shitty little illustration of what I mean to show what would be different: https://i.gyazo.com/91da6768548e05261d45e8b07789ef87.png (and yes, I do use smartcast. It still casts when you RELEASE w though, not when you press it.)

Many Taliyah players didn't like the change to Vector Casting because it added extra delay. This change is aimed at fixing that without reverting the ability to its old casting style. Hitting the W is essential to performing well on Taliyah, so the smoother it is, the better.

Outside of being able to cast it without direction for just a knock up, that's exactly how it casts if you play with smart casting. Press w where you want to use it, move mouse, release w. done. I'll never understand why people say to not use smart casting for vector cast skills, it's incredibly intuitive to me, and was from the very first time I played viktor.

The bigger issue they introduced that basically ruined taliyah was removing the spell lockout. It made her too strong, and they needed to azir her.

I've played Taliyah quite a bit, and when I used her W using quickcast, it felt more fluid than the double click. But I do agree that it's a lot easier for the enemy to see it coming, although it's a really good way to stop the wave push if you play into minions. Taliyah is a control mage, she wants you to move her way, so if her idea is to make it difficult to push on her turret, which is how I play her, then she will make it difficult, 90% of the time that leads to either a dive from the jungler to get the mid a kill, or an early roam from the enemy mid, if you haven't destroyed them in the process, or if you're in an unfair match up, Zed ult after Zed ult after Zed ult

I do agree the w should be on a more instant cast, and hope Riot takes that into consideration in the net patch, unlikely but we can hope

Would this reintroduce the spell lockout? This could be a fine QoL change, but the lockout would have to be re-added to allow for her to be buffed again.

She just needs a revert to pre6.14 altogether. Return old casting method, return lockout, revert all the stupid fucking damage nerfs, etc etc. But I don't really see the difference. Your suggestion works, but what's wrong with the double click? Vector casting is just as clunky.
