My idea of a (sorta) interesting way to heal

The problem Rito had with Soraka was that her style is not fun. Someone gets low, you give them health or mana with the click of a button. My idea is that the champion (Soraka or some future healer) first uses the ability on an ally champ (duh). Then the champ roots theirself and tethers to the target. So the idea is sort of like Karma's tether, but you're immobile. As they're tethered, the target gets healed an amount per second for a maximum amount of seconds. The tether could be broken if the ally moves too far away or the channel is interrupted, enabling counterplay. Perhaps if the full channel is allowed the two champs can get a move speed buff or something, since they're forced to wait out for the heal. Any thoughts?

I dislike the idea of Soraka having any meaningful CC. TBH, I really like the idea of an infuse healer that they've been playing with, since it suits her better as a character and is a concept that isn't currently in game (whereas you modeled yours by saying "so she'd be like [other champion] only [difference]).

Right now they are working on a kit where Starcall is removed and in order to heal her allies, she actually has to "give" health and get herself low. Im not sure when to expect this to go to PBE but it looks fun.

It's an interesting idea but what's to stop people from simply healing away from the fighting? Riot has been constantly trying to figure out how to decentivize topping off health and I think they came up with a way to do it. Now is your idea a bad one? Not entirely but I would see something like this as a reverse siphoning of health (trinkling your own health into your allies HP bar). This way any damage the enemy does is not actually being deleted, just transferred to another champion.

Wouldn't that pretty much be Io from Dota?

what if healers dropped orbs of healing that their allies had to pick up, like thresh's souls? An enemy could pick it up for half of the healing maybe
