why did riot rework aatrox?
ive never played with old aatrox, but im curious, why did riot reworked him? what was the problem with him?

As for with most reworked champions, there was a couple of issues they wanted to fix.
Keep in mind, this is in general. Not all these points will apply to all people:
- Boring to play
- Boring to play against
- Too hard to balance, either extremely strong or extremely weak
- Outdated kit
a lot of his hypothetical Power-Budget--the metric of which how champions compare to one another, from a balance-perspective--was dumped into self-healing, and there was no way to balance that element of his kit without him being completely oppressive across a fair number of matchups. its a problem a lot of champions with high sustain have had to deal with--Vlad & Swain were intentionally undertuned for the longest time, because when they were "balanced" they choked-out the toplane champion pool and made otherwise-decent champions almost unplayable.
he was a melee adc, and since that's statcheck they removed him
Kaisa is fine though Vayne too
From what I understand, he never had a meta that favored him and his play rate was awful. When the meta shifted in his favor and he was revealed as very OP, Riot had already decided to rework him for the former reasons. It was a perfect storm.
Because they wanted a 
rework without actually reworking her. LUL
