galio is too strong with the rework. (thoughts)

Q is fantastically powerful by itself. friend just explained it does 9% health damage ... W is balanced and fine. no complaints. E its a charge dash thats very telegraphed but still easier to land that VI's Q.... The radius is too wide . (my opinion) and its base damage is 100 at level 1... R some people in low elo say its bad cause they cant use it but hooooly poopballs is it strong in team fights. its radius is farting maaaaaaaaassssssssiiive, why is it a knock up?! its channel time is shorter than pantheons, and it knocked EVERYONE IN THE RADIUS UP!? it should be more like ziggs where only people in the center get knocked up or something... that poop is waaaaay too strong for solo queue gold+

sure you can argue to ban him, but when he gets through, like i just experienced. he can go mid with thunderlords, build rod of ages and then go tank and be a front lining mage that poops all of your team. STOP MAKING NEW THINGS STRONGEST IN GAME RIOT FFS

the bronze and silvers think blitzcrank is op and galio ult is shit. i understand guys, i totally do. some champions have easier or more potent abilities at different skill levels. dodging a hook is more frustrating that being prepared at level 4 for a galio ult at low elo, cause it probably doesnt happen.

He's getting nerfed on the PBE.

thank god.

Specifically reducing the damage from 9% to 6%.

Old galio was alot stronger

Old galio wasn't able to properly utilize his kit in a tf without flash

Very Hard Engage1 votes

and thats fine, but he still brought more of an impact than new galio will ever.

that just means hes situational rather than must pick, it needs to be a decision why you want a galio on your team.

Ive carried games as new galio, that i would never be able to as old galio, his new kit is actually pretty damn good once you learn it, his w plus flash can make game winning plays, plus you wombo his ult with someone like J4 or Amumu and jesus you can cc them for like 4 straight seconds, add in a mantheon ult and maybe an MF and boom, wombo'd to death

and in what way is that any different from old galio....

(btw we 2 man and take the baron)

Xavanic2 votes

the difference is the new galio can do that without flashing, and on top of that, CC them again with his W

Very Hard Engage1 votes

good luck with that.

Xavanic1 votes

in all honesty, i think galio is actually very balanced atm, his q is just a little over the top

Very Hard Engage2 votes

hes sub 50% in every role.

he really isn't strong (he has no ult remember) so it always takes him 2 rotations, and in the event he still lands ult, it still takes him 2 rotations of abilities anyway. ults worthless. (combined with long cooldowns) when other champs can already kill you in 2 full rotations like syndra, viktor, ahri anivia or annie etc.

so all he has is Q and E and its all about how well you can dodge his E or punish him for not using it perfectly. in all other situations he still needs flash to be relevant.

DizTheGreat1 votes

ur trolling me? he has no ult you say... people always talk like this and then they see it in professional matches and they piss their pants.

Ralanr1 votes

He judges Galio as not having an ult because it requires a teammate to work.

DizTheGreat1 votes

play him mid, with old quinn tactics in mind post 6. you hit 6 walk toward bot , have them engage and you ult bot. it can work and even plebs can do it, all it takes is coordination. MARK MY WORDS IT WILL GET USED IN PRO PLAY

I dont think so, his q and w are avoidable so its not appropiate for it to be any harder to land.

Galio needs a item 3151 . If I dont need to build mr in lane I like to get item 3025 item 3151 as my first 2 items. I can rush item 3151 if I getitem 2033 item 1082 item 1056 for mana.

he doesnt "NEED" any particular item to be strong, its how you play a champion. some items give more strength than others and liandries is debatable compared to rod of ages. i feel like everyone arguing against me is insane right now. you dont see that this is a bruiser tank that can actually go mid. rumble and maokai have a difficult time mid because they dont have proper escapes or harass. galio has this.

Naaa, its a lot more damage and is a powerspike when you buy it unlike rod. Galio's E isnt a very good escape, the ult is but only if you use it premptively, so its unlikely. I dont know why people are bringing up Galio's winrate, he has only just been released and some pro picks have low winrates. I can see Galio getting nerfed to 40% due to his ult in pro play. Hopefully it takes a long time.

So a champion with sub 50% win rates across the board is too strong because you struggle fighting him? You clearly have half a mind of what you're saying here. I'm sure you also think Ahri is in a balanced state right now. His new kit feels kinda clunky to play in the first place and he's still outshined by most other champs even in team fighting. His ult isn't even a big deal, it mostly just splits up the enemy team in a team fight, and really can't be used all that well without communication with your team in the first place. His E is a real long charge time with easy to avoid range, you can tell what direction he's going to go a solid second before he even gets there, and it can't go over walls. So does this make Vi too strong because you can't keep track of her Q's dash like that, and it can go over walls.

Galio's Q has a small range and lifetime on the field but does decent enough damage, usually it's good for zoning someone out or slowing them if you have Rylai's. His W is practically useless without channeling it the whole time and you can't perform any actions in that time so you're effectively cutting your DPS output anyways so you have to time it with your cooldowns. It really sounds like you're just complaining about a fair champion like I complain about Yasuo just because I can't fight him very well. If it's a problem, ban the champion in your games, or ask your team to ban him. At this point in time Galio really doesn't have many viable build options in the first place and he gets absolutely shredded by anyone who can kite and/or slow, which with all these people building Blade of the Ruined King in the first place, he's already having problems with that. His passive is probably the only thing I can really say is actually really strong right now. But please, say he's broken now before anyone actually learns how to play him, I don't mind all the complaining.

http://plays.tv/video/58de88e5556c487b78/moment-that-dizthegreat-complained-mostly-bout-when-was-arguing-with-him-bout-galios-ult- Most of his complaints in the argument I had with him for bout 30m (I unfriended him cause it was more of his way and your stupid kind of argument, Didn't want to sit there for 2 hours more talking bout it. Play bout 2 games with him, Both Games had galio, no complaints or comments after the first one(didn't level two kill his lane, etc), but after mid fed a few kills and he got creamed by it, he complained bout it.

Galio is strong imo, but complaints were not well based. W and Q are imo the strong points, where as E is predictable. Ult vs a team who has vision of his roams is also significantly weaker.

Xavanic1 votes

To be fair, he's been out for like a week and some, so his win rate hasn't begun to stabilize, plus he seems to have a few bugs in his kit

WaterIow1 votes

True, but His kit is solid enough to climb with.

Xavanic1 votes

yeah, just saying we won't full know weather hes op or not until people stop trying him out and the people who want to stick with him start playing him more
