Should be getting sightstone quest gold for kills and assists
I'm a bit confused as to why supports can't get gold to count for their sightstone quest from kills or assists. would make vision in laning much easier.

You already get it pretty quickly just from the passive gold, Bandit procs, and the items' own effects.
To put it into perspective, if you just buy your starting item and do absolutely nothing else, the quest will be completed in a little over 21 minutes. Once you add the passive effect and Bandit, you shave it down significantly.
You almost have to do nothing to get the quest completed in the first place. Imagine one support getting the quest completed immediately upon first blood within 3 minutes in lane. That already skews an advantage to one side further.
This has some merit, as the coin drops on enemy champion deaths near you, as if they are cannon minions. Shield has no such benefit, nor does Spellthief. Thus skewing things towards coin users in high kill games.
