I don't know if this is my bronzie talking, but am I the only one who thinks this is a good thing?
She has hard cc, a good peel, good teamfighting, good sustain, good utility.. sure, there are much better options, but I find 
support fun and viable.
If you don't believe me, either prove me wrong or try it yourself.

Or the game against that Thresh who is on top of his Es and ensures you don't exist until you hit 6, by that point it will be to late.
Or the Janna who just makes sure you never really get to do anything in lane at all.
She might ok against some match-ups but as others have said Cinderhulk on her is just to good you should just keep her in the jungle.

I can already bully and out trade most people I face in bot lane, but to find one rocking smite and it doing nothing until he upgrades it, either meaning he is down 1 summoner spell or has to delay some other part of his build be it sightstone or mobi boots, I would be salivating at the advantages given to me.
Seriously you either give us complete lane dominance well into lvl 6 by you being down a summoner, or you give me complete vision control and ability to out roam you due to lacking mobi-boots. I am going to punish you for that some where on the map so by all means PLEASE take smite against me in bot lane.

If you find something off-meta that works a little too well, SHUT THE HELL UP AND DON'T LET RIOT FIND OUT. Remember Thresh ADC? Veigar support? Twisted Fate jungle? Support Zyra? Warwick smite top? That's what happens when you break the meta and tell people about it.

She's got permaslow and damage, along with a knockup, but no hard cc (as in stuns) or way to protect your adc pre-6. She's mostly just a secondary tank of the team rather than a true support.
It's not bad, but it's not amazing either. Like a melee version of Orianna support, I guess, sans the defense steroid on your adc and shields.

It has been used in a professional match once.

Angry Monster1 voteseasy to prove your wrong, she has 0 peel. I am not sure why you think she has peel. Q is meant to start a fight, W is a damage ablity and the E is a slow that you need to be in the middle of the enemy to use.
To say sej has great peel you have to say leo has great peel. Again just so we are clear, neither of them are good at peel. They do have CC but that does not make them great at peel. They are great at sacrificing their own lives.
Considering your failures at peel, i am not even sure why you think she has good sustain.

LordGeovanni1 votesyou can play sejuani as support but then you would actually be viable with tankyness and damage and if there is even a chance that you can do damage and adc's doent have a clear way to steal the kill you become a bad support
