Blind Pick Wukong on top?

Hello summoners :D I am looking for a champion to main right now (like Irelia Carries U, Annie Bot, Gosu...). I want to main Wukong, but I don't really know if he is good in the current meta. I want to be able to blind pick him. I want to get good with him and start winning games by carrying from the top lane. I like his kit so much <3 And my favourite skin of the game is on sale foe him right now :D What do you guys think? Is Wukong reliable? Can he carry? Does he have problems in lane against some other champs?

I'd suggest to pick what you like.

But as to stay in the topic at hand, Yes, Wukong Top is a good pick.

The laning phase is a funny joke Wukong tells his friends.

It doesn't matter if that Darius or Riven is bullying you in lane. Once team fights happen the sheer power of your ultimate will make you far more relevant.

Wukong is one of the safest top lane picks in the game simply because of how powerful he is even from behind. His ult is that strong, and with three damage items (Ravenous Hydra, Black Cleaver, and Last Whisper generally) he can easily assassinate carries, while being deceptively tanky in team fights due to his passive. If you can hit your ult on five people in a team fight, the fight is basically won right then and there.

Wukong is really strong, and since he synergizes so well with BC he makes it so that his team has a laughably easy time killing tanks and squishies alike.

wukong is great for team fighting, but he does have some 1v1 issues and can find himself zoned off of the cs. with skill and proper ability usage wukong can really excel in the top lane against non gap closer champions.

whenever i pick wukong top, i find the lane to be quite volatile, the enemy always wanting to brawl me as opposed to farming.

Wukong has a lot of hard engage if I recall correctly. Works well against squishes. But I can't say that would be reliable, picked blind.

Personally, I would think a Tank like Sion would be a safer Blind pick. But your on your own if your looking for a carry.

You're looking at this all wrong. When you select a main, you're saying "I'm playing this champ as much as I can because the playstyle of the champ matches with mine perfectly". Having a main is not "I want to play this champion a lot because they're strong right now".

There are people that main Urgot and make him work, despite the meta never, EVER favoring him. If you want to make Wu into your main, you'll find a way to make him work in any meta, whether he's strong or not.

Nto being good in the meta means you will end up in Silver 2 instead of Silver 1. Boo hoo. You'll have fun - isn't that what counts?

I main Teemo now. Can't remember last time he was "meta".

You can do whatever your heart wants :D

Every champ has their problems and weaknesses. You will then learn how to play with/without having advantages (which applies to any champion you choose).

Wukong can smash a lot of people at level 2 especially, even Darius can sometimes be beaten then. Wu's level 2 is probably the strongest in the game, and can help him to snowball from there. He's got great teamfight, great early, mid and late game, and he is super fun to play. Even the people that bully him aren't impossible for him to beat. It's hard, but doable.

I would only take him in draft when I feel it's safe. I've crushed some Riven and Irelia players but I'm sure better players would slay Wu. Also it sucks playing against tanks who use dorans to heal, then go straight to armor.

You should learn how to play any champion you want. That way, you can find work around problems presented in the current meta. Then when the meta favors your champion you can do extremely well.
