Bronze supports/thinly disguised carries

As I make my way from Bronze 5 again (currently dropped to Bronze 3 recently from Bronze 2), I am experiencing more and more Supports (mostly autofills) who play champs that are not meant to support. They often say they will (if anything at all), but then quickly announce they will go ap, do not buy ward stones, nor do anything remotely support-like. When they pick a champ like Annie, MF, Brand or some other carry oriented champ, I always mention that they are denying the team a support champ that will be needed. They promise that they will carry and don't seem to understand, or even care, that this can cause the team problems throughout the game. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to convince them that they are hurting their chances to win?

In bronze, no one looks at the minimap anyway, and I'd argue it's probably actually better to 'support' with a carry than a dedicated actual support. I gave up trying to carry myself with Janna since I would see mid lane coming down river.. ping back my ADC.. doesn't react.. spam ping.. type in chat 'b kat is coming b b b b ... 'an ally has been slain'' throw monitor into bathtub and then dive in after.

AP Lux, Brand, Annie, LeBlanc building full AP support in low elo is probably a lot more consistent than, say, Janna going full support with wards. If you're even half decent with your mechanics, you will have idiot braindead enemy ADCs who constantly walk into your skillshots, fail to trade, and take a lot of free poke from your spells.

IMO, sightstone in an elo below gold is a waste of 800g unless you're actually playing a tank-type support who can utilize the HP like leona or thresh.

Otherwise, nothing wrong with AP Lux support without any wards/etc.

Wait sorry I have nothing to contribute, but I need to ask something. How did you get into Bronze 5? I'm try to get there without breaking the rules.

instead of harping on them of the champion they picked you could just advise them to buy a sight stone if they dont seem to be doing so early game.
