"You must own the champion in order to earn its mastery chest." I got this message in an ARAM after I played a champ on free rotation. So I can't get a chest because I don't own the champion? Also, I thought you only got chests in Rift and not the other modes yet because mastery is not gained in this mode? Thanks!
As some of you have experienced, key fragments weren’t dropping after ARAM or Treeline wins. They will be during this patch cycle. Go forth and unlock things.

Are arams giving letter grades now? Maybe it was a delayed msg from normals?
The system's probably using that error message for when you would've qualified for a key drop. Presumably Riot didn't think to make a separate notification because they assumed chests would be available everywhere keys are.
