Why does normals have to be so mis-matched

Every normal I do I always get matched with bronze/silver/gold (highest I've seen it gold 3). I'm not bashing on low elo I'm just wondering why I keep getting matched with them and hell I've even faced some players below summoner level 30 (I'm Diamond V). I just feel it's stupid because:

  • It's not fun for them because they usually get murdered and start blaming each other

  • I don't get the practice I actually need to take a new champion to ranked

I play normals to play with low elo friends or to practice a new champion/role. How can I practice those at a proficient level if I keep getting matched vs players with a lower skill level? And obviously I can't just take a new champion/role into ranked straight up otherwise I'd get murdered.

I'm Silver III and when I play with my girlfriend (Silver IV), and my two other League buddies (level 19 and Bronze III) in normals we sometimes get paired against a team with high gold and low platinum players. Makes it very hard to practice champions for sure.

I'm Bronze 1 and I que normals with my plat friend all the time so many times we end up facing Diamond players, but In the end it can make you a better player if you can learn from your opponents.
