I can't play League of Legends.
I'm not sure why, but the game is just too difficult.
It might just be me, but the game appears to expect that
- players understand the mechanics of every single champion in the game
- players spend long hours on champions in practice games learning to last hit
- spend hours watching videos of pros playing
- somehow track 10 people at once in a chaotic melee while it goes on, and target one specific person in the middle while standing on top of 3 other pixels
...and my list goes on.
To make matters worse, new champions seem to be released with ever more complicated abilities. Kalista, for instance, seems to require that the support understand her abilities even if he hasn't purchased the champion. If you don't research it and someone picks Kalista and expects you to support, plan on getting raged at.
I'm a casual player and I don't have time for all of the stuff that riot apparently expects of players. And it's too bad because while I'm completely horrendous at this game, I have a lot of time and effort wrapped up in it and I do like to play.
