started out bronze 2 going 5-5 in placements, and had to basically 1v5 or get lucky to have at least one other person know what they are doing, maybe in a 100 games or so I might get gold

I started ranked s6 and have placed bronze then and now, I have about 150 matches (EDIT: 300 matches l0l) in bronze, bronze is my home.
Yeah that's exactly the reason why i stopped playing rankeds, i should have been placed plat the first 2 seasons i started playing rankeds due to mmr but ended up silver 1 due to trolls (i had something like 1350 mmr after only 3 rankeds where i stomped), didn't managed to get out since i only played at the very last of the ranked season so silvers hard stuck there play with the mentality "i'll drag you down with me" since they know they have no chance to improve. (ap rengar bois) This season despite going S rank in every placement i lost like 6 of them due to afks and ended up bronze V in clown queue, before the "fix" was released that had the top 0,5% of the ladder (dyrus, scarra, iwdominate and so on) hardstuck silver since you can't win if 4 people on your team are refusing to win, before they got boosted back to their original elo. I kept playing games and i kept stomping and steamrolling asses with +21 LP wins, i did the math and unless i skip tiers for some weird reason it would take like 50 games for me to reach silver V, so yeah, not worth at all i'm sorry. (Keep in mind that i'm supposed to reach diamond to play with people that bore me, and this isn't even a given since 8/10 of the games i'm likely to get griefed or something for the most various reasons.)
I still remember my very first ranked, i was shyvana when devourer was still a thing, i was something like 14/4/7 at 20 minutes, fiora top feeds 3 kills and goes afk without saying a single word, the other 3 retards refused to follow my directions and panicked and kept feeding 1 at time despite me being fed and shotcalling (even if my shotcalling was very basic back then and i was nothing near to what i am now.).
