Illaoi needs a change. Or maybe a lot of changes.

In the above game, I played against Illaoi for the first time. I played as Garen, and we were both top. I had no idea what I was going in against.

I have to say, Riot, Im disappointed. I know you recently nerfed Illaoi because her base power was too high, but it's still a problem.

I was fed the entire game, taking maximum advantage of my mobility, my kill security, and my passive regeneration. I'm very good at Garen, and I'm very good at playing safe while I wait for my life to regen and timing my Q.

Fiddlesticks ganked early game which helped me secure my first kill, and I got another kill against Illaoi when she tried tower diving and I used my ult on her while she was trying to run back to her tower. Even when I was killed by their jungler, giving Illaoi an assist, I was still able to secure multiple kills by roaming around and helping gank other lanes early-mid game. I was 5/1 at one point, while Illaoi was 1/5 (she killed fiddlesticks once at the time) and yet I was STILL losing trades. Im unsure what my kit was, but I know I had Sterak's Rage and Dead Man's Plate (Im pretty sure) and I think I was working on my trinity force. I specifically remembered that I tried to lane with her though, and all she had was black cleaver, doran's blade, and two long swords. I couldnt win trades. My Q hit hard, but even with dodging her Q and E I was still losing trades. I couldn't win 1v1. I ended up playing passive the entire laning phase even though I was fed and she was massively underfed. I ended up just looting what I could from her tentacles while getting as much minion kills as I could. Don't get me wrong, I never let her kill me in laning phase. I'm not dumb. But she has too much base power. Even with my huge gold advantage I couldnt engage her or even get her to play passive. I would be more understanding if she was fed, because that wouldve been a totally different situation. But she wasn't. She lost the game with a negative K/D ratio, but she was STILL one of the bigger threats on the battlefield. In late game, me and nunu engaged her shortly after a team fight subsided (Teams never fully engaged). She had a little more than half her health and me and nunu were at full health. Me and Azir were the strongest on our team, and Nunu was a close second. At this time Illaoi was 1/7! And she managed to 1v2 us with less 3/4ths of her health!

Both her ult and nunu's ult were down, so it's not like she won with a well placed ult. I used my ult when she was around 35% health and I was around 10% if not lower. She was taken down to less than 10% but she still managed to kill me and nunu.

This is ridiculous Riot. Even the overly tanky Swain in the same match wasnt nearly as big of a problem in my mind. Illaoi needs to have her base power shaved. Maybe she can have some additional scaling to compliment it, but her base power is too high.

I've never faced Illaoi before, but I hope that I never have to face her again until she gets put to an acceptable power level.

Illaoi is a big lane bully, but she has a hard time post laning phase. She can't be very useful, except when on a counterengage team comp.

Well that's your problem.

she is hella strong... if she hits you, but her abilities are really easy to dodge
