I'm always stacked against, all ranked games except two

Just my recent ranked matches, the ones still in my match history. As you can see [besides main Diana] I have done well. At first I didn't do so well in ranked. I finished provisionals into Silver II and have lost all but two [possibly three?] games, dropping down to Silver IV, currently. I've had consistently bad luck. A few are from lag, DC's, and AFK's. Most, however, are from unbalanced teams. I'd give this a safe minimum of 80% of my games, almost all of the rest being the aforementioned list.

I do well, compared to how I used to be when I started ranked, I do extremely well. I have the worst luck though. I don't know if it really is bad luck, or some way that the match making algorithm places me such that I'm some funky number that somehow gets the lower end of the stick. Of all the times I've seen DC's in ranked, literally 100% of them have been on my team. I can attribute that to luck.

Play normals and get better, they said. Well, I am better. In normals I do pretty good. I carry a good amount of games, piss some people off, have good teams who know teamwork, etc. Ranked is the complete opposite. Rare that anybody on my own team has teamwork, and the few times they do we get a DC or AFK or intentional feeder. Third to last game [first in links above] I even had the other mid tell me I was a d*** hard Diana to go against [he only fed off my teammates. Killed me once, in a 3v1 gank]. I had full dominance over him the entire game, even as we lost. Again, I do good, all things considered.

Is there anyway to tip the scales to a more even playing field where I can win games according to my performance? I have good teamplay. Lately I've thought that this is how I lose games. I depend too much on my team, and they're never there to back me up. My last game [in list as well as at the moment] I hadn't died at all, but my team was complaining that I ran away [low health, situation you should never initiate in, and often I told them that first and they still would] so twice I went in to help them in their bad situations they shouldn't have started anyways. I would have had a perfect game, although a loss, if I had stuck to what I know was the smarter thing to do. So whether I play as a team, or as a solo, I still lose games. Again, is there any way to improve my win-loss? I'm not toxic, in any way. Never been complained/labeled/reported for anything except being unskilled, and that was before I started improving. I help, I contribute, I call MIA's and all the pings all over. Call the wards, jungles, and cares for the over extenders during MIA's. I'm at a loss as to what to do. I'd like to think it's bad luck that will pass, but it's been going on for at least a month, during all times of the day and night. I've tried everything to avoid the trolls and feeders. I'm so desperate that I'm posting in a forum about it..

Help much appreciated. Apologize for the ranting of seemingly personal problems, but I want to improve and can't.

Hi MrDoctorDIV

I just skimmed through your match history and I think I can point out some things that might help you to improve and carry your teams better.

First note is that while yes, you performed well and won your lane, it seems like you didn't take advantage of that lead to help your team out very much.

  1. You didn't buy any stealth or vision wards in all 3 games. Your trinket is a tool, but don't consider it warding to simply use your trinket and call it a day. Every time you recall, make it a rule to buy at least 1 stealth ward. You should also try to buy a vision ward at some point in the game and place it in a contested location, such as the riverside brush behind your red buff. If you aren't warding it means you teammates can't see your side of the map. It means they don't know if your lane opponent is roaming to gank them, or if they're in your jungle stealing your buffs or farm, or setting up a pick somewhere.

  2. You didn't go into the enemy jungle very often. If you are ahead you can use that advantage to bully the enemy jungler. This goes back to number 1 because you can place deep wards to help your team track enemy movements, but you can also use it to steal farm from your opponent and bully their enemy jungler to set up objectives like dragon.

  3. You didn't identify areas of opportunity and take advantage of them. In the game with Varus and Leona botlane your Leona was killed by Jinx and Varus was able to kill her in return early on. Leona is an extremely good lane to gank for and your Varus had a small advantage over Jinx at this point in the game. You should have spent some time bottom lane to get that snowball rolling as furiously as you could before Jinx could farm a little to negate Varus' advantage. Yi losing top was a problem, but you spent far too much time trying to mitigate that when he was simply counterpicked.

So there's a few tips that can hopefully help you to improve and climb. Not every game can be carried, but a lot of them can. It's all about making smart decisions so that your small advantages aren't wasted.

quick look at your profile

bad runes. fix them asap.

Diana is a worthless champion.

When approaching ranked you can't approach it like a blind solo queue game.

Examples that make good picks

Kayle mid/top with teleport to help botlane reason 1 - most noobs don't have tanks on their team, kayle fixes that reason 2 - most noobs nowadays play jayce / zed mid, kayle counters that reason 3 - kayle can never lose lane

Reasons why Diana is a shit champ reason 1 - after 50 minutes of farming csing killing teamfighting, your bane is exhaust and 1 cc. reason 2 - no poke / peel

If you want a champion that is better than diana Play fizz or zed.

Duo queue with a TANK player. Every game you queue into you say Mid he says top / jungle

fight breaks out at bot lane both TP to bot lane

win bot lane = win dragon = win game

One note (the game doesn't tell you when a player on the other team Disconnects (if it did you could immediately use that information to an even further advantage) which is why it might seem like you get all the D/C's. More often then you realize the other team while have a brief dc or even a long one and the other team wont say anything (again they don't want you to know that their jungler is MIA.)

As for playing well individually and not winning games - two things to think about.

1.) Play lots and lots of games, and eventually the good luck and the bad luck evens out and statistically you will advance.

2.) Need to progress from having a good individual score into carrying your team. A lot of people associate carrying with having a good KDA and getting the most kills or doing the most damage, but a real carry can actually elevate their teammates game. Part of that might mean taking a more rounded champion that brings utility to the table and can setup kills as well.
