What are some of the Skills/Mechanics of a champion that should actually belong to another champion.

Arcsaber··31 votes·10,647 views

I think Taliyah's worked earth mechanic should belong to Yorick. The ground is super deep and massive so throwing a few stones shouldn't deplete the earth. Since Yorick's grave digger and I assume he summons ghouls by the dead bodies inside the ground, the worked earth mechanic makes sense on him. There should be limited dead bodies inside the ground so Yorick shouldn't be able to keep summoning ghouls on the same spot until the dead bodies are replenished with souls or whatever. This also fixes the anti-fun nature of his laning phase. I also think Mord's ultimate ability belongs to Yorick's. Yorick's a grave digger so he works with dead bodies. You know the dead champion bodies that stays flat on the ground after they died until the player is revived? Imagine Yorick's ultimate allows you to click on one of them and summon a ghost copy of that champion and function exactly like Mord's ultimate.

These are my thoughts. I'm interested in hearing what you guys think.

Urgot Ult on a champ that functions in the middle of the enemy team. It's a decent skill, it's just not on the right character.

What are your thoughts on pros making their own soloQ in protest of the DynamicQ system?

Do you think Urgot's rework is more likely to have him keep his ult with everything else changing to fit it, or get a new ult so everything else can stay more similar to his current kit?

RiotMeddler28 votes

Replacing the ult and keeping parts of the base kit seems more likely to me. That's just a prediction on my part though and not one based off having a particular kit in mind.

What if he turned into a melee tanky fighter/bruiser/juggernaut with a long-range poke ability?

AHarmlessTaco2 votes

I could honestly just imagine him firing a harpoon out of his chest and slowly reeling in a champion over 3 seconds, forcing them to listen to a shrill 'veeeeeen' sound and his gurgly laughter. Something where they are immensely slowed and grounded while walking away from him (to feel the impact and despair but not the 'give up' associated with suppression) but free to run at him if wanted, and slowly pulled if not walking away. I think that would be terrifying and distinct enough from Thresh and Skarner, though the similarity would feel appropriate.

Metal Gear

I feel a lot of Urgot's kit lends itself to a mobile artillery platform as in the vein of a metal gear, and there is much potential for something in that vein.

See, without the Institute of War and Summoners keeping conflicts between warring states in check, the threat of unrestricted weaponized magic is now free to be used and abused, and the potential for arcanic weapons on the scale for nuclear weapons is quite possible in my opinion.

From there eventually the need to have a mobile nuclear artillery platform would inevitably result, and Urgot could be a perfect way to make this reality: such a dangerous weapon would likely find invention from Noxus and Zaun working in tandem, and Urgot as a decorated and loyal soldier - and who may face an unwanted end to his career - could be trusted to be part of the weapon... literally.

Fused to the artillery platform, he would be a living weapon capable of unfathomable destruction and serve in the name of Noxus.

The potential for such is unlimited.

Hey Meddler what about this for urgots Q

A charge up mechanic where you can launch multiple missiles

The longer you charge the more missiles you launch, quick tap to launch 1 hold to launch more costing x mana per rocket charged.

basically a skillshot with 1 - 5 projectiles each dealing a small aoe 175 maybe like jinx rocket. rockets dont overlap by more then 50% of their diameter. mutliple hits deal 50% damage because rockets cant overlap too much the max hits is 3 for maximum 2x damage

Shooting 1 gives precision but shooting many makes them land in a wider area but takes more time to charge up giving opponents a chance to run away or engage.

i think this would fit well with the whole mobile artillery platform thing.

I'd rather have Urgot returned to his original classification of Marksman/Tank so that he can function in the enemy team.

The combination of artillery and gun on an armored body is the epitome of an actual Tank, like real millitary tank or Panzer.

Champions that are part tank/part damage class generally are not tanky enough to stand in the middle of the team because there should be some trade-off for getting that damage. The only champions that get tankiness AND damage are juggernauts who then get no way to get into the enemy team aside from slowly walking forward.

If Urgot was tanky enough to survive in the middle of the enemy team, and he has decent damage, and he has the range to put that damage on the enemy squishies when he gets into the middle of the enemy team, then you have a champion who is all strengths and no weaknesses.

There are many champions who get tankiness, considerable damage and easy way to get into enemy team. They just don't deal enough damage to 1v3 enemies too dumb to kite them like Dario does. Prime examples Malphite Maokai

13th from the bottom and 14th from the bottom for "damage dealt" out of top laners. They are low damage champions.

Maki deals average of 700 less damage than Fiora, and actually more than Tryndamere, Riven and Jax. http://champion.gg/statistics/#?sortBy=general.totalDamageDealtToChampions&order=descend&roleSort=Top Are those low damage champs too?

Their damage potential is very high, but they have to spend a lot of time skirmishing around the outside of a fight waiting for an opportunity to go in, that's a lot of potential dps time wasted. Malphite and Maokai basically spend the entire team fight in the thick of everything spamming everything they can and still accomplish very little by themselves. They are picked for cc and other utility and while they provide some damage, the rest of their team has to do the bulk of the work.

this thread got me curious, but when did you guys start to allow all creativity for kits and not restricting them because they may be too difficult to play?

I remember when WK came out he had an ability planned that got scrapped for this very reason

RiotMeddler4 votes

We started shifting some focus from accessibility to distinctiveness in early 2012 and have continued to make distinctiveness of kits a priority since. Accessibility's still important to us, but we're happy to have more champions that have tough learning curves than we used to be, especially if they able to offer something really interesting as a result.

Ekko's W, hear me out cause at first I didn't really think about it for months and I wish I realized it on his release/teasers.

But ekko is an assassin giving him an AoE stun field which is also a great zoning tool should have been saved as an ability for a different champion or a rework.

Most of the issue the game has with tank ekko is yes due to mutliple slows and good base damage but those things are fine if ekko's W was reworked into something else.

His stun field is not only easier to use as a tank ekko but even as normal ekko albeit not as reliable it's still a powerful CC tool when riot clearly removed stun eve and silences from assassins(although not really a hard CC) to give them more counterplay of not having reliable/multilple hard-CCs (I count multiple/reliable 40%+ slows as perma-slow thus a hard CC btw which gives ekko mutliple hard ccs)

I'm not saying i'm 100% right but I do feel that ekko would be easier to fix if you removed his W and saved it for a new champ or a rework.

Also in the future please don't give assassins reliable Multiple/AoE hard CCs because albeit ekko's w is hard to land at first once you put in practice it's rewarding hard CC is huge..

I know this entire post is off-topic but I really want to voice my feelings on ekko espeially when albeit it's been months I finnally realize it goes against the removal of stun eve and silences from assassins.

Sion's old ultimate should be on Aatrox.

GhostOfShrimpmas14 votes

Thresh's auto attack buff should be on Caitlyn instead. She's a sniper, she should be rewarded for waiting until just the right moment to shoot, rather than being encouraged to spam as many shots as possible to proc a headshot.

bloodmoth10 votes

i sort of agree, but ashes old passive was similar to flays but with crit, and it turns out that rewarding a marksman for not attacking feels like shit. Personally i think cait having a backloaded auto animation would make it feel alot more like a sniper, IE she shoots after targeting an opponent for .5 sec, forcing her to position better and forcing her to sacrifice kiting for range, which i think is healthy

GhostOfShrimpmas4 votes

Aye, her old crit one was terrible, and could basically be ignored as the game went on. But something like Thresh's, where if she didn't attack for a while, it just got a raw damage increase and maybe even a range increase, would actually lend itself to some interesting play, letting her set up ambushes.

TotalJerk2 votes

You could've taken almost anything off of Jhin and put it on Caitlyn.

Ye all miss the SUPER obvious. Sions w mechanic (lifestack) should be on cho gath, i mean, cho gaths lore states the more he eats the stronger he gets. it would make more sense to have him eat like, 200 Units to grow strong than just 6. just my 2 cents

Lolipoppers5 votes

Shen's spirit blade should belong to Irelia as she is "The Will of the Blades". Her abilities feel outdated and don't really have a cohesive theme that fits the fantasy of the champion.

Awoof4 votes

Shaco and LeBlanc should swap their entire kits. LeBlanc deceives and tricks people. Shaco makes a joke out of killing people. :^)

How about a champion with LeBlanc's passive, Shaco's Q, Wukong's W, Fizz's E, and Ekko's ult? A champion like that might even replace Teemo as the most annoying thing in the game.

I feel like Teemo's ult would actually be more annoying. Between his 3 basic abilities, you will never catch him anyway, so the fact that he can also go around placing shrooms in your jungle with impunity would just be terrible.

Irelia's passive should be on a Juggernaut.
